Usually I don't give money to homeless people in my country since they might spend it on drugs or other stuff, so I keep my coins on my wallet! But New York homeless are really kind and heartblessed people, when I was there last summer one of them helped me under the subway when I was kinda screwed with how to get a ticket He walked away after he helped saying God Bless You and didn't ask for money, but I stopped him and gave him some. That's kidna funny because I don't usually give money to ''his'' people in my hometown, but I spared some money that summer on NY Homeless people are so boring over here

I just lock the car doors, roll up the windows and play my music really loud so I can pretend to not see or hear them. I don't really walk where all the homeless people are, so I don't worry about communicating with them either. The homeless people at the shelters are really nice and the majority of them are simply normal people who are down on their luck, but the ones on the street are shady as hell and I avoid them as much as possible.

The only time I was approached by a homeless person was when I visited Vancouver. She was a really nice, polite lady so I gave her $20.

Well, thanks to headphones, they're much easier to avoid, not that I go out of my way to do it.

I usually prefer giving them food over money. Like, I wouldn't go out of my way to go to a nearby convenience store to buy them stuff but if I have some extra food in my satchel and I'm on my way home and I'm not hungry anyway, I'll just give it to them. I only ever give money to buskers because at least they're trying to somewhat make a living.

Well were I lived just three weeks ago, I never encountered a homeless person, except if I traveled to another city. But now that I moved to the East Bay near San Francisco I've seen many homeless people (or people that look homeless) I cannot always know for sure. The homeless people have so far not approached me.

There was this time that I was going to an academic competiton. My dad stopped at a gas station to fill up the gas tank. It was like 5 in the morning. Well there was a homeless guy outside and he asked my dad for money. My dad asked him if he was hungry and he said yes. So my dad bought him breakfast along with coffee.

That's what I would do, if they ask me for money, I would ask them if they are hungry. I don't carry cash, just my debit card, so buying them food is easier.

There is this stigma that homeless people always ask money for alcohol or drugs, and I admit that I have fallen to that mentality. But now I try to not judge because really every homeless person has their story.

Here in Switzerland I don't see many homeless people, just sometimes an asian woman that plays an instrument and doesn't talk to you aggressively. I feel bad for her but I'm just a 15 years old boy and I don't have money
But my family is from Bosnia and sometimes I go there and there are SO MANY HOMELESS people, especially kids, I'm even scared tbh
Sometimes my family gave something to them, but other times they're so annoying, they run and scream.
Some of them are fake, like a guy who asked for money while he had tattoos everywhere

One time this lady came up to me and tried to talk to me but I put up my hand in the "talk to the hand formation" and prayed her away but when she realized I was ignoring her, she started to cry. I just calmly walked away
