I have been using forums/ontd on and off again since middle school. I had no idea ATRL existed until I started posting on Beyonce's forum again when the 4 era started. I decided to check it out and it was entertaining. I lurked for 6 months until my membership finally got approved and the rest is history.

ATRL had a section where we predict the TRL top 10 for the next day and we get points if we got it right. That was fun. Share my music taste is another reason.
