Looks like the Universal Music Operations Ltd. stuff will be formally announced next week. It's a big deal that will surely irk all of Universal's US labels, but it's entirely understandable. Mercury Records UK have got her back.

It's a tricky one. Work has crossover appeal on Top 40/M, Rhythmic and Urban, where as Bounce is Top 40/M and Rhythmic. I figure they'll give Work a go, and if it doesn't take off on Pop, they have a sure-fire smash ready in waiting.
But it's all about positioning. Iggy should go for Nicki's market, albeit slightly older and edgier. But definitely pop-rap, marketing Iggy as a popstar that raps and is inspired by all the different sounds (dance, trap, hip-hop, etc.). Not a hip-hop/urban artist with a narrow audience, which is essentially boxing her in for a career that is beneath her, to be completely frank.

Omg boo I'm loving all ur posts lately how do you know all this stuff?
Yes. I've always wanted her to go the nicki route. Popstar/rapper because even tho she's a rapper I would hate to see her being consired just a rapper when she's one of the most marketable people I've seen lately. Just like Nicki and her Stans wants her to be straight up urban when Nicki can do anything. I'm really curious to hear her "singing".
Yes I like that! And I think it was kind of what she was going for anyway when she was on her own (but a bit more underground obviously) before finally signing with a label...
First the MTV Movie Awards, now this!! They're already making up for the lack of promo of her (technically) first official iTunes release

Actually, this is coming from a Nicki stan and I actually like her "pop" songs if they dont sound like ****. Like Super Bass, Va Va Voom, Your Love, etc. im just hoping Iggy doesnt go make music like Automatic. If Bouce sounds anything like Super Bass I will be THRILLED

It's not about "singing" and "rapping", it's about dance and urban. You can have an all-singing urban song and an all-rapping dance song.
Scream & Shout
Don't You Worry Child
Sweet Nothing
Feel This Moment
Thrift Shop
Suit & Tie
****in Problems
Harlem Shake
Started From the Bottom
Love Me
The Way
Can't Hold Us
Try
Daylight
When I Was Your Man
Stay
Just Give Me a Reason
Radioactive
Cruise
It's pretty clear what style of music is on its way out, and which style of music is on its way in. Hopefully Iggy will take advantage of this.

That list means very little, because radio is already going back into dance-pop mode for the summer and autumn.
lol. They were playing dance-pop all the way through winter 2008, winter 2009, winter 2010, etc, but okay.
Maybe you're too young to remember, but there was a time in the late 90's up to about 2000 where dance-pop and electropop dominated, and for a few years there wasn't much of it (yes, even in the summer!), and then it came back again a few years after.
im just hoping Iggy doesnt go make music like Automatic.
There will be variety. Some songs will have frivolous lyrics like Automatic, others will be far more personal. The beauty of a progressive market like the UK is the album is expected by Iggy's demo to be a mix of sounds and genres, and range from fun tracks to rather serious ones. Like a Rihanna album, in many ways.
