I would have released lights off as the 3rd US single. I believe it could have potentially smashed.

damn.. when I look back to 09.. he seemed like was going to be something HUGE.. he was considered a RISING ICON.. but what a let down.. idk who to blame.. Do You Remember as a follow up was a mistake. Also, he needs to learn how to perform. He appeared in the same radio concerts as Justin Bieber and Kesha and they both out-shined him easily with their performances. Jay just sang, had a DJ in the background and walked around. Another problem is that South Asians aren't really a strong consumer group. They're too cheap to buy anything.

Do You Remember was not good at all. It was a generic song like Down. Essentially they were releasing the same type of song again when they should have used Down as a platform and released a strong song like Ride It, Stay or Maybe to establish him.
If Jay doesn't like gimmicks he wouldn't have jumped on the dance bandwagon with songs like I'm All Yours, So High, Hit the Lights, etc. Also, Jay is always with Birdman. He's in Jay's videos and appearances with him. You're using a lot of excuses. The reality is that no one cares about Jay and his songs lately are not good enough to attract any one's attention.

at the end of the day YMCMB is more of a rap label.. so it should be no surprise.. that Drake and Nicki are doing good.. if I was Jay.. even though im good friends with Birdman.. I would leave.. and it's not really about success.. it's promo that leads to success.. the fact that in New York.. where I reside.. there are Drake and Nicki posters.. no jay sean posters at all.. and drakes started from the bottom memes and sayings are everywhere.. as friendly as Jay and baby are.. Birdman doesn't really care for jay much..
