Top 40 FIRST ELIMINATION
#39 Brick By Brick - Katy Perry
MTV (Unplugged Live Session)

|
Score: 5.21
Highest: 9 (x3)
Lowest: 1 (x1) 2 (x1)
This song was never a projected winner. Initially, I thought it would be knocked out first, but a few of her stans (or critics) gave it some 8's and 9's to boost it up. Boring song from a boring live sessions album. I'll give her props that she wrote and performed it herself, although I'm not sure if that's really a compliment. |
#38 I'm Still Breathing - Katy Perry One Of The Boys (Deluxe / Standard Version)

|
Score: 5.26
Highest: 10 (x2)
Lowest: 1 (x3)
I made an error with this one. Initially, I had miscalculated it, accidentally factoring in an additional 10, then dividing it by 19 to receive a score that would have boosted it to the Top 35, but I caught my error early on when it got tied with one of the girl's other songs. Granted, I did think this would make it a smidge farther, but I guess I was wrong. Voters were fairly brutal with this one, with only 8 people giving it above a 5 and four giving it above an 8. |
Sample: For those of you interested in what the scoring for the songs look like, we're going to use Katy's last eliminated song. She scored respectively - 4 6 10 4 9 6 3 7 5 4 1 3 5 6 7 1 9 10 1. Take this number and divide it by nineteen (The # of ballots). Once the competition starts getting tough, I'll be posting the numerical order scores for you to see each elimination.

SCORER SAMPLE
Here, I have gathered the toughest and nicest scorers. Both were polar opposites in their voting choices, with one being much more lenient than the other. Here you'll see a breakdown of how they reviewed the songs.
TOUGHEST ∞ Madonnas // Average Score: 5.04
Madonnas proved to be a lean and mean judge, sparing the 10's accordingly and allotting higher numbers to songs they deservingly believed in. The only 10's they gave up were one allotted to Ke$ha, and one to P!nk. Rihanna and Katy lacked higher numbers, with Katy not getting any number above a 6, and Rihanna only receiving few 7's. However, Madonnas jurisdiction should be respected, since they did what many do not do, give 10's to those songs deserving of such, and be very safe with your higher numbers. Madonnas was truly impartial in their ballot, and I applaud Madonnas for keeping the true spirit of the countdown intact.
NICEST ∞ Georges // Average Score: 7.90
Georges was the most lenient with his votes, giving only one '1' throughout his entire ballot. After giving one 2, he went on to give a few threes and fours, but the majority of his ballot was entirely positive for every girl involved. Ke$ha, of course, benefitted the most, with P!nk following a close second. While Katy and Rihanna's scores weren't anything to rave about, he still gave some good numbers that ended up aiding Rihanna, and really helping Katy get one of her songs into the upper reaches of the countdown.
TONIGHTS PREVIEW
One girl gets her first two songs swiftly kicked out - who will it be? P!nk or Ke$ha? Place your bets here, and stayed tuned tonight.

I gave her four tens but her unreleased songs were undoubtedly among the worst songs in this rate.

As I mentioned in the post a little bit up, a few users gave her really bad songs in this rate high marks.

Top 40 SECOND ELIMINATION
#37 I'm The One - Ke$ha
Unreleased

|
Score: 5.31
Highest: 10 (x1)
Lowest: 2 (x1) 3 (x2)
This song was the song I knew would get out first from her. Initially, before I calculated Katy's score, this was at the sinkhole of the rate, however, once Katy's songs factored in, she gave herself a boost up. Being honest, I've never actually listened to this in full, so I don't really know why it's THAT bad, but it truly wasn't as much of a disappointment as the upcoming elimination. |
#36 Let Me Go - Ke$ha Unreleased

|
Score: 5.34
Highest: 10 (x2)
Lowest: 1 (x1) 2 (x2)
I was really upset about this one. Generally speaking, this was one of the first unreleased Ke$ha songs I had heard and I fell in love with it instantly - however, judging by these results, the feeling is not mutual. While I never thought this song would make it to the Top 15 or even 20, I definitely think it should have been higher. While the song received few ones and twos, its plethora of threes and fours sunk it's ranking down, with only one tally above a 7.5 - a 10 - keeping it afloat. |
