Yeah but every artist no matter how much he/she copies other artist make something new and ''next level'' in his/her work, for example Madonna never wore outrageous costumes, every artist draws inspiration from other artist but again wants to create something new and take that art to the next level... and even if Gaga focus on pop art she's inspired by Madonna not Xtina...

Christina Aguilera owns the imagery. The 50's and 60's was the basis of the "Back To Basics" era
as well as the "Bionic" and "Keeps Gettin' Better (A Decade Of Hits)" eras. You can even still see
the 50's and 60's influences in the "Your Body" video. It is Christina Aguilera's definitive image.

No one knows exactly what Gaga is going to do for ARTPOP, but I will say that whatever it is I am sure she will fully commit to the ideas. Christina doing a few fun photo-shoots that any of the pop girls can do, doesn't mean that she is ahead of the game or whatever. I am a fan and I have to say that she can talk a good game but the closest shes gotten to making an era mesh with the music/image is B2B.

The KGB shoot was cute, but its just photos, there wasn't anything else for one to really sink their teeth into to give Christina 'credit' for.

Same with Bionic- a solid concept that didn't pan out. Meh.

I'm interested by the assumption over what the ARTPOP era will look like. She said that she'd be turning Warhol on his head and has referenced his lesser known art works (i.e. "Sleep"), not that she'd be going 60's pop art.

If anything I'd wager she ISN'T going to go pop art because it's too obvious. Her pre-era visuals so far have referenced the 60's but not in the way Christina has done. It's more Audrey Hepburn meets The Factory with the typically classier looks with brunette hair.

Regardless, Gaga and Warhol have been bedfellows since The Fame. I'm not really following the Christina comparison...

who owns that type of imagery. And the media will draw sharp comparisons to Christina
Aguilera if "ARTPOP" touches on this era in a more blatant way than everyone is expecting.

It was even in her Bionic look in some photoshoots
+ I really thought the 'Bionic' look was a natural evolvement from the B2B era.
She combined the classy style from the B2B era with the dirty 'Stripped' look but she made it even bigger and more mature of course.

Why do you assume that because it's "ARTPOP", that means Gaga is saying "all the imagery will be pop art"? Just because Christina's used pop art doesn't mean that she's done ARTPOP, because ARTPOP probably isn't just about pop art.

Anyone that thinks that the Keeps Gettin' Better/Bionic eras influenced ARTPOP is delusional. They were both inspired by artists that came well before either of them. It's not exactly a new source of inspiration...
