I was really excited for 'Cruel Summer' but it fell short of my expectations. The album features amazing production which I knew would be present because... well Kanye is heading this project and he always has the best beats. Some of the songs just feel so BLAH though. I understand that it's a collaboration album between multiple different artists on the label but there are so many people contributing that it makes the album almost faceless and confusing to me. The release was pretty messy as well, coming a few months late. At the end of the day, 'Cruel Summer' is a good album but I won't be playing it a year from now because it doesn't really have many redeeming factors. At least it's better than 'Watch the Throne'!
