Getting more #1's shows you are relevant and the public actually likes your music. The definition of successful. You don't have to be "talented" to make an impact.

Beyonce is an icon. She represents Black women in the recording business and in Hollywood. Anywhere you go, everyone knows the black leotard, black heels and robo-glove. Success =/= impact. Impact has to do with the ideals that the person portrays, the fans that follow.
Gaga, Brit and Bey all have enormously dedicated fanbases.
Katy, Ke$ha and Rihanna can't really vouch for this.
I've jumped in and out of caring about Katy and Rihanna.
They don't have the same impact as Gaga, Britney or Beyonce. They just do NOT.

Katy, Ke$ha & Rihanna all came after Britney & Beyonce and since they came out into the scene they have been more successful. Your just giving the others all these bonus points because they smashed in the 1990's - early 2000's where CD sales dominated.

So in the era's in which they have actually competed, they have outperformed Tier 1. Bar maybe Gaga.

Do you realize that Rihanna currently has 7 albums out, the same amount as Britney? So it's no surprise she's the best selling digital selling artist when she's released more singles during the digital age than everybody else.

Katy's average single sales in the US are way more impressive + Rihanna doesn't have two 6+ million selling singles like Gaga (I mean, she doesn't even have a solo song cross the 5 million mark yet)
