I don't know why people keep on downgrading Taylor's efforts. Like she's never made/never will make a masterpiece... Did you just forget that "Fearless" won practically every award it was nominated to? Even an Album of The Year Grammy... And you were all uber-mad at it...

I just don't understand how the critics love her so much, tbh. I love her and her songs, but still...

I think EW is right. I mean she outsells the other major stars albums in just one week and then goes on to spend more weeks on the Billboard 200 as well. Its insane her popularity right now. Her critical acclaim is pretty high as well.

A lot of albums flopped for a lot of different reasons. That doesn't mean the music itself was bad. Erotica by Madonna flopped yet it's an amazing pop album. And there's a lot more examples.

I never said that all albums flop because they are terrible. I said that of the ones that were listed. Since when did "those albums" equate to "all albums"

You mean Shania Twain? Shania was arguably the biggest female of her time though she stopped recording music and faded away due to that not because the public was tired of her music. I mean she had 3 diamond albums are you going to say the public had no interest in her after Up? If Taylor goes the Shania route then yes it won't happen but I don't think she is gonna take a long break from music.

Taylor is everything American music desires. She's got the country, which is the biggest selling genre in the US, and she's got the pop side to sway younger girls/gays. Her music is relatable and friendly as well. She really has the perfect set up, that I really don't find her success surprising - albeit impressive.

I don't think she is going to become THE popstar, but she's not going anywhere. Taylor, in her 40s, will probably still be able to push at least 500k. As long as she retains this lovable American image, the US is always going to root for her.

I wonder when she will headline the Superbowl...

Definitive right now? No, but she's well on her way if she can continue this progress. The title belongs to either Gaga or Rihanna, with the lead just tipping towards Gaga. The true test will be if Taylor can carry her fans into adulthood. If she can evolve into a mature country/pop act like Shania was then she will definitely be there. Beyonce and Britney grew with their fans from when they started in their teens. Now, they are in their 30's with still loyal bases and selling millions to this day and are not that far from making two decades in the game. The fact people are calling longevity someone with under 10 years is really laughable. Longevity means you sustained the test of time, through adversity and all. She hasn't done that....yet at least.

A fair amount of straight males I know listen to Taylor. She seems to be the only girl in the industry (Bar some Rihanna songs) that boys take a liking to.

She probably will get tired of it but not before she's done a couple more country/pop albums. She doesn't have to make albums with pop songs forever just long enough to be far ahead of the other artists of this generation.

That's rude, she is very much so talented. Can sing, write, and play a few musical instruments. She definitely has a lot more talent than most recording artists out there today.
