Artists should experiment with their sound, the problem is when they only do it to get hits, which is what I fear for this record. I'll have to wait to hear it all.
are Taylor's fans only interested in her because she's been labeled as a "country" artist?
I don't think anyone could convince me of that. she's making a pop album. or actually, we can't say that yet because we know **** about it. she's making a NEW album and exploring a NEW musical direction. what's the big deal. save your meltdowns.
I will be completely honest.
With all these dance music everywhere you go, Taylor is a breath of fresh air. Why? Because she's popular her songs get played almost all the time along side Katy Perry and Rihanna. While most of the songs sound the same now, her songs stands out and I really want her to stay that way. She's different and she doesn't need to follow other people's footstep. She's selling albums with what she's doing right now why not stay the same? Or if she wanted to reinvent herself she could've gone any other routes but the dance pop route.
Half of Taylor's fanbase wanted her to return to the country style of the debut.
3/4s of her fanbase will probably buy the album because they either love Taylor enough to support her or don't care that she's made a pop album because they listen to pop music.

Taylor could experiment and create a sound like this amazing female:
I mean the possibilities are endless...

I just don't see how anything is *risky* when you're working with Dr. Luke and Max Martin. That's not experimenting with your sound. That's dumbing it down, just as she did on her her newest single.

It's still a dumb move.
I know right? I mean she's one of the few lucky people who doesn't need to sell out in order to sell albums. I don't know what has gone into her head.
"Safe & Sound" was experimental (for her) and good.
No one said we want her to make the same music over and over.
It's just... dubstep...
"Safe and Sound" was the peak of her career it seems to me. I mean after that we got Eyes Open(pretty good song), Both of Us (generic song) and now the lead single. Its gotten from amazing artistic music to just trying to get a hit song and at 1st I thought it was just because she wanted to expand WW and the next song would be the old Taylor but it turns out I might be wrong.
