Well L.A Reid has discovered some of the biggest pop stars of our time and runs a very successful record label.

Also Britney still makes solid albums that produce hit songs and she has 14 years of experience in the industry

Obviously part of the job is to be a mentor to these people who are barely starting their careers. Britney and L.A are completely qualified to do this.

Would an artist rather be judged by someone who has experience in the industry and has walked the carrer path (or has guided the path) that they would like to walk or just by someone who can simply sing well? Like what don't you get? Talent comes in all forms.

What don't YOU understand? I could give two ***** that Britney is on the show. Good for her. But for people to celebrate her being there and then shun Demi (who has TALENT) is where the line is crossed.

I don't like Demi, that is known, but I feel like this is a horrible move in her career. She is not even 20 and already judging reality TV shows, it just feels so premature, and she has only been doing music since 2008.

it's actually a very smart move. it's exposing her to everyone who writes her off as a disney star and doesn't pay attention to her. if she's a good judge, it will get her out of the disney girl genre and gain her a bunch of fans. and it's not like the fans she has now are going anywhere, they're the most devoted fanbase. it's only up from here.

It gives exposure. Cheryl seems successful over in the UK, and judging X Factor was a big part of her image.
