Every major pop star has a creative team that presents ideas, looks, and scenes to their video. The artist usually has a say in the direction and choice of treatments presented to them, but it's very unusual for an artist to come up with everything in the video. Melina could have very well have described this look to Rihanna, and she liked it without knowing the source. Rihanna could've described an idea like this to Melina, and Melina went looking for something similar and found this.
Is it that hard to defend yo fave, that you have to bring up other artists to deflect attention??
