Dignity is not bad at all, but it's by far not the best album released by a Disney star.
Yeah, that's why she was nominated three times for a Razzie.
Do we really want to get into Razzie nominations in a Miley thread? Let's not.
I really don't see how anyone can call any of the Disney stars overrated because nobody takes any of them seriously at all in the music world. Hilary and Miley have done the best musically because they make great pop records, whether you consider some of their eariler songs to be fluff or not the music they made ***** on anything Demi and Selena released. Selena is finally coming into her own with the dance music and I think she needs to stick to that sound, it suits her voice. Back to Miley (& Hilary): Can't Be Tamed & Dignity were good pop records that were outside of the box and Hollywood Records didnt' know what to do with them. I found Miley annoying before the release of CBT and listened to some of the album and really enjoyed it, Liberty Walk ***** on so many lives that it's not even funny.

Miley has been nominated for two Razzie Awards herself tehehe. It's all down to personal preference, because they're both not really good actresses.
She's a little bit overrated on here, but of course I'm talking with the wrong person as you are one of the few Hilary stans on this forum. I agree with everything else you said. I see your shade though. Demi is better than Selena, but hey, that's just my own opinion.

I know about MC's Razzie noms. They tend to go about teen idols, one of the Razzie admins even stated that they nominated Hilary because she was a teen idol and that she didn't deserve the nominations. I think Miley's problem with her acting is that she has a very strong accent. I am from Tennessee, as is Miley, and every time she does a role I hear her accent. I think Hilary grows with each project she takes on, her indie movies show that she can act with the right roles. Demi is a better vocalist than Selena but to me her music has no color or flavor at all, Selena may have a weak voice but she makes good pop music, but of course it's all about personal perference, as you stated.

You did not!
And there are plenty of Hilary stans on here tyvm.

I hate her accent aswell. It's so annoying. Remarkable, but annoying. Since we are dubbing all the movies and television shows over here though, I don't really have a problem with that. I think Miley doesn't want to be a "real" actress for now anyway and just stick to those RomComs and teen dramas. She's 19, so she's every right to do so. The music is what's most important for her and I'm really glad that she's concentrating on that again after finishing her current movie projects.
I adore this girl so much. I'm a boy and I live in Sweden. I have all of her albums, and singels, I'm a fan and a collector :] I LOVE the CBT album! Seriously! Robot and Liberty Walk should have been two singles. I can't wait fore more music, seriously.. I'm afraid that she'll go back to her old work... *cry*
And I hope that she feels loved by America, and Europe again.. they haven't been so nice.. (Why did she release Who Owns my Heart in Sweden and not in Australia O?
Meet Miley Cyrus is the perfect debut album from the Disney girls. Every track is killer material and so ****ing catchy. Right Here is one of my favorites, even though it sounds like an exact copy of Pink's Who Knew.
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth took advantage of the hot and sunny weather in Southern California and hit the beach in Malibu. The two checked in to the Malibu Beach Inn and spent the day together hanging out on the beach. The two lovebirds made out on the rocks as well as in their beach chairs. They took pictures of each other and walked up and down the beach talking and laughing. Miley went in the water for a quick second, only to realize that the water was freezing cold and quickly jumped out.
Miley Cyrus. Born: November 23, 1992. Famous since: 2006. Connections: Daughter of the formerly mulleted one-hit-wonder Billy Ray Cyrus, ex-girlfriend of teen heartthrob Nick Jonas, close friend of Demi Lovato.
Known for: Cyrus rose to stardom as the lead on the Disney Channel original series Hannah Montana, but became even more famous thanks to some duckface MySpace photos, cleverly edited YouTube videos, and a little song called “Party in the U.S.A.” She’s basically a national hero.
Talent quotient: Miley’s got a fairly impressive set of pipes, even if she sounds a little like she’s been on a diet of cigarettes and whiskey for a few years now. Unfortunately, audiences might be a little too distracted by the clothes she isn’t wearing to notice.
Cyrus’ post-Disney ventures into Big Kid acting projects – like the maudlin romance The Last Song – haven’t won her too much acclaim: The New York Times’ A.O. Scott sniped, “Acting, for the moment at least, seems almost entirely beyond her. Most of the time she seems to be mugging for the camera, play-acting rather than exploring the motives and feelings of her character.”
But she’s really good at posing for pictures!
Scandal quotient: If there’s anyone who knows damage control, it’s Miley. She’s weathered inappropriate photo scandals, onstage stripper pole scandals, “lesbian kiss” scandals, bong scandals, and even Bob Marley cake scandals. And she’s apologized for about half of them.
Projects in 2012: Miley has two movies coming out next year, starting with LOL, an English-language remake of a French film about a teenager who loses her virginity, smokes pot, drinks like a fish and wants to get rid of her goody-two-shoes image (ahem). Family-friendly fare! Miley has also lent her startlingly gruff voice to the upcoming animated film Hotel Transylvania. It’s unclear whether she has any plans to record another full-length album, given how poorly her last “grown up” effort was received stateside.
Our Call: At this point, Cyrus’ future success is entirely contingent on whether she can convince audiences to take her seriously as an actress. It’s clear that she has no interest in being a clean teen pop act anymore, and that’s fine, given she’ll enter her twenties in a matter of months. But if she actually wants to find post-Hannah Montana success, she’s going to have to be very selective with future material – and convince studio-types that she’s got the chops for those watershed roles.
