JEIBERT'S Best of 2011 | [#60-59][#117-114][#30] NEW UPDATE!
CASCADA - "Original Me
Released: June 17, 2011
Genre: Dance-pop, electropop, R&B
Label: Zooland, Universal
Producers: Manuel "Manian" Reuter, Yann "Yanou" Peifer
This album still has the signature Cascada sound but it was poorly received by the general public and music critics due to “rip-off” music of other artists particularly the lead single, “San Francisco”, a hear-alike to Katy Perry’s hit “California Gurls”. So it is thought that the title “Original Me” was pretty ironic. I agree that some tracks were bland but it was the ferocious “Au Revoir” that sparked my interest to listen to this album. A bit disappointing because it lacks the Cascada magic in the previous albums especially in their ballads and midtempos. Glad I’ve had “Unspoken”, “Pyromania” (which is quite resembled to Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”) to listen from time to time.
Favorite Tracks: "San Francisco" , "Au Revoir", "Pyromania", "Unspoken", "Independence Day", "Enemy", "Sinner on the Dancefloor"
MAC MILLER - "Blue Slide Park"
Released: November 8, 2011
Genre: Hip hop
Label: Rostrum
Producers: Benjy Grinberg (exec.), I.D. Labs, Ritz Reynolds, Clams Casino, D-True, Young L, Mansions On the Moon
One of the newest and youngest! MC Rappers to emerge in the music scene this year is Mac Miller. At such a young age, he reminds me of a younger version of Eminem with his own style. His rapping skills flows really well and his charisma is to be adored. Due to acclaim and hype, the album debuted at #1 with an astonishing feat done NOT BY a major record label. Anyways, I recommend all of you to listen to this record, and be amazed undeniably with the talent, that this boy will go far in his career with just the right promotion and public image. Mac is one of the next big thing in Hip-Hop music!

J. R. Rotem Producer(s): J. R. Rotem

This song is my most favorite song by Fefe so far, it has more poppish compared to her previous songs which were more rock influenced. Oh, the chorus of the song remind me a lot of Kelly Clarkson's "Behind These Hazel Eyes" chorus too!. I first heard the song at a local festival, and I was like, "who's that"? As soon as I had internet access, I typed some lyrics and only then I did know it was by Fefe. It's the reason that I discovered this song late.
BAD MEETS EVIL - "Lighters" (feat.Bruno Mars)
"...This one's for you and me, living out our dreams, We're all right where we should be, Lift my arms out wide I open my eyes, And now all I wanna see, Is a sky full of lighters, A sky full of lighters..."
Album: Hell: The Sequel Release Date: July 5, 2011 Genre: Alternative hip hop, soul, pop rap Length: 4:23 Label: Shady, Interscope Writer(s): Marshall Mathers, Ryan Montgomery, Peter Hernandez, Philip Lawrence, Ari Levine, Roy Battle Producer(s): Eminem, The Smeezingtons, Battle Roy

If it weren't for the so late premiered of the video, It would probably spend an 8 week + length of chart life in my countdown! So the result, I was bored already of the song when the video premiered! Nonetheless, it is one of the best rap songs of this year! Bruno, on the hook provides magnificent vocals to the song! But it was Eminem's (especially the first prechorus rap) and Royce's raps (before the Bruno bridge) were the highlights, very very catchy of a rap!
CHRIS BROWN "Look at Me Now" (feat. Lil' Wayne & Busta Rhymes)
"...Look at me now, look at me now, Oh, I'm getting paper, Look at me now, Oh, look at me now, Yeah, fresher than a mother****er!..."
Album: F.A.M.E. Release Date: February 1, 2011 Genre: Hip hop Length: 3:43 Label: Jive Writer(s): Chris Brown, Wesley Pentz, Jean Baptiste, Ryan Buendia, Dwayne Carter, Trevor Smith, Nick van de Wall Producer(s): Diplo, Afrojack, Free School
Weeks on Chart: 5 weeks Peak Position: #10
After Lighters above, now comes one of the strongest Rap songs of the year! Chris Brown assisted by Lil' Wayne and Busta Rhymes, delivered a strong comeback by this single. I was impressed and shocked because the song was very bizarre at first listen. The highlight of the song was Busta's "gunfiring" rap attack on his verse! His part is giving the whole song to a new level! While the chorus is just cool, the song is one of the year's highlights in the Hip-hop music scene
LADY ANTEBELLUM - "We Owned the Night"
"...You had me dim the lights, You danced just like a child, The wine spilled on your dress, And all you did was smile, Yeah, it was perfect, I hold it in my mind, Yeah, we owned the night...
Album: Own the Night Release Date: August 15, 2011 Genre: Country Length: 3:17 Label: Capitol Nashville Writer(s): Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley, Dallas Davidson Producer(s): Paul Worley
Weeks on Chart: 3 weeks Peak Position: #05
Another example of a perfect country pop cross-over!, this song is probably my fave or we cans say my most favorite uptempo of their album "Own the Night". Charles Kelley's and Hilary Scott's blending vocals were once again perfect just like in their every other songs. The intro music of this song was very memorable, and it keeps me imagining like dancing in a traditional gathering party in the Wild West ala country ambience! while the group are doing a live show!
Birth name: Nicola Maria Roberts Born: October 5, 1985 (age 26) at Stamford, Lincolnshire, England Origin: Runcorn, Cheshire, England Genres: Pop, R&B, Dance-pop Label: Polydor, Fascination Website:nicolarobertsmusic.com
While the British girl group Girls Aloud on break, 2011's been a time for Nicola Roberts to give time for solo music after her fellow members Nadine, and Cheryl had done last year! Nicola's image was very striking since she's already in the group. The surrounding hype from fans keep on generating on her music and thus Nicola unleashed the best album by a Girls Aloud member! What give me much more life are her photocshoots these era! Very edgy, Very bright, High - fashion! Very Nicola!. Her voice can keep up a wide range of high notes too! What Nicola does best is her love of her music and she isn't afraid to let the general people know what she feels through it, hence, despite promotions, the commercial sales of albums was not a success. But who cares? It's quality music we can hear from it! The best, if not, one of the best Britpop album of the Year!
