170. Mumford & Sons "The Cave" This is sadly one of my least favorite songs from their album. Am I happy that is helped pull them in to the spotlight?.... HELL YA! I will say that I am very eager for there next album and to see what it sounds like. This is Mumford & Sons' first of three charting songs.
169. Taylor Swift "Mean" As mentioned on another end of the year countdown, here is proof that Taylor can sing country! Is it a bad song, no, it's quite different compared to all of Taylor's other singles. A part of me wants her to do another songs like this. This is Taylor's first of three charting songs.
168. Sugarland "Stuck Like Glue" And here we are another 2010 to 2011 crossover song. I've loved this song for a lot time, way before it crossed over onto pop and HAC radio. Best part of the single. The funny video! This is Sugarland's first of two charting songs.
167. Bruno Mars "The Lazy Song" Did you all expect to see Bruno again? Guess what you are right... :P Why am I introducing it like this? Well because it is an amazing joke. And the lyrics and video are just so mellow and calming. I guess I'm just too lazy to be serious about this :P This is Bruno's second of two charting songs.
166. Hanson "Give A Little" You all should know this group... or at least their song MMMBop. They faded away sadly fast considering their music only got better as they got older. I remember listening to this song on my way to school eveyday my senior year. Such a great upbeat song! This is Hanson's only charting song.
165. Rizzle Kicks "Down With the Trumpets" I personally hate rap with a passion and 90% of rappers in the US. This year I find out that British rap is quite different and am able to enjoy it so much more. Found them while watching a personal countdown on youtube. This is the first of two appearance from Rizzle Kicks.
164. Olly Murs "Heart Skips A Beat" (ft. Rizzle Kicks) And Rizzle Kicks are back with their appearance in Olly Murs' Heart Skips A Beat. I absolutely love Olly's first album and can't wait for his new one to come out. Heart Skips a Beat a brilliant single choice and well it makes an interesting dance if you try hard enough. This is Olly's only charting song.
163. Miranda Cosgrove "Dancing Crazy" ... surprise? Possibly since I don't really like teen singers, but Miranda is okay. Kissin' U from last year was such a beautiful song and Dancing Crazy is such a fun and upbeat song. I actually go the video for free on iTunes one week. This is Miranda's only charting song.
162. Sean Paul "Got 2 Luv U"(ft. Alexis Jordan) And here is Sean's final entry of the year. First time I heard the song I loved it. I was so happy to see the song reach the Hot 100 earlier this year after failing to reach it on the song's release week. Got 2 Luv U has served it's purpous and let people know that Sean is back.
161. Beyoncé "Party" (ft. J. Cole) After seeing and predicting how terrible Countdown did on pop radio I really just wished that her label would have just sent this to Top 40 radio... even though I hate J. Cole. What can I say it is a fun song, I would have like it if they kept the origional Andre 3000 version. This is Beyonce's first of three charting songs.
160. Eric Chruch "Homeboy" In case if you don't know, I was born and raised in a very southern part of Missouri. And occasionally there would be one guy who would act all cool and pretend to be a city boy, well they boy happened to be my older brother so this song immediately reminds me of my brother and not in a good way. This is Eric's only charting song.
159. Jason Aldean "Tattoos On This Town" This song is all about the impression you leave upon where you were born and raised and the people you have meet. Well, it really helps me think of all the good times I've had with people I've known. Including giving my best friend in high school his first kiss from another guy. This is Jason's second of three songs.
158. Muse "Undisclosed Desires" Yet another song that would have been in my single list of 2010, but this one because an official US single this year so it all works. First time I heard this song, it was a hit and miss with me, but that changed after the two follow listens. This is Muse's only charting song
157. Duran Duran "All You Need Is Now" I wanted to make a reference to one of their older songs to match how I feel about this song, but the only think I can think of is this song makes me horny like a wolf and that is just weird. Anyways, Duran Duran is one of the few band that I grew up listening to and still absolutely love thier music. I wish I could hear them more on the radio. This is Duran Duran's only charting song.
156. Sara Bareilles "Gonna Get Over You" Oh Sara, what is wrong with radio. Why won't they support you past your first single from each album. This song is filled with such great energy! And the video is so adorable! This is Sara's first of two charting songs.
Also there are two more awards added to the awards list. Be warned, in the next set of songs, I will be handing out the first award of the year. Hope you are all ready!
I may have missed the "terrible joke". Was it a song choice or was it in one of the blurbs? Because, if it was the blurbs, I think I know which joke you're referring to.
Undisclosed desires? That's just mean. Now I'm gonna get over you, you cave. /what
The Cave, Stuck Like Glue, Give A Little, Undisclosed Desires, Gonna Get Over You. Many great choices! Can't wait for the top 10. Probably it is P-E-R-F-E-C-T.
