Discussion: Why Isn't P!nk Considered a "Trinity" Member?

Because if GaGa wasn't in there, a good fourth of this board would go into fits of rage.
And she has made more impact by this point in her career than P!nk. Fact.

Basically and they try their hardest to perpetuate it in order to "separate" their fave from the rest while the other girls continue to outsell them.

We like to argue about any and every miniscule pop-related detail.
Just like the people that hate the "Queen Of Pop" threads are the first ones to run in screaming "STOP IT WITH THESE THREADS! IT WILL ALWAYS BE MADONNA! THIS IS SO STUPID! ATRL IS TOO OBSESSED WITH THIS! GRRRRRR!"
Just sit the **** back, relax, and entertain some light discussion.

I never pushed people to "let it go." I just said I never understood it. And this thread wasn't about the trinity being useless or stupid; I was asking why P!nk isn't considered a "Trinity" member.

Haha definitely, especially GaGa who has sold 4 million in 9 weeks.

And girls who are not Britney, Gaga, or Beyonce have sold more than that this year. If you had one modicum of comprehension pertaining to my post you would understand that.

Sorry, let me clarify. I didn't mean to say you were one of the people who wanted to "let it go."
But you find it redundant, no? Yet you dedicated a thread to a discussion on it. So I bunched you in with that group to get my point across, even if it's a little faulty.

Let's refer to your own post. According to the most recent Year to Date albums chart, Adele is the only female that has sold more than GaGa.
You used the plural form of the noun girl by saying "other girls", so your post is invalid, as you seem to be referring to other girls who just aren't there.
Now who isn't getting the subtleties of the English language/basic logic?

Well seeing as Britney got her first number one in 1999 and then her second in 2008 ...
Pink got her first in 2001 and her second in 2008 (about a month before Britney's second) ...
Just saying ...

If you don't count Lady Marmalade.
I love her part in that.

Her last album sold 1 million in Germany and nobody talked about her or cared when I was there just like in the US. In fact, a couple people were astonished her album sold that much in their own country. Where are her stans? I've never met one. Maybe they're all in nursing homes or something.
Anyways I've never really understood the Trinity concept either. Lady Gaga is a given but to be honest Britney hasn't had enough success as of late to warrant any special attention (she's already the 6th best-selling female artist of all time so who really gives a ****) and I don't understand how people can say "Beyoncé" and "longevity" in the same sentence because she's only on her 4th album and Destiny's Child =/= Beyoncé. It's doubtful whether 4 will outsell Loud so why shouldn't Rihanna get a mention?

I would have to agree with a lot of this statement.

I find it redundant because I don't know how it originated or the criteria needed to be considered one of the Trinity members. Are we basing this on cultural impact, longevity, current success, a combination of two of the three or all three? Because a case could be made for artists outside of the usual three brought up. This doesn't need to be answered since Nicole and others have explained everything I wanted to know. But like I said, this thread isn't about me finding the Trinity thing redundant; it's about Pink not being bunched with Britney and Beyonce despite her longevity and success over the years.

Again the whole thing is that the girls in the Trinity tend to be pop oriented ... not that Pink isn't somewhat pop, but she tends to fight against everything that Pop is at times. For instance her first album was soul/r&b oriented, Try This was like half pop/rock, Stupid Girls was all about not being a stupid pop girl, and so on. I think she has tried to distance herself from being another poptart so that's why most people probably except her for not being another poptart.
I do love Pink and she woudl definitely be in my Trinity ...

This "trinity" thing is stupid. P!nk doesn't have many stans here so she's not in the trinity.

The whole trinity thing is completely stupid and illogical. I don`t use it.
And though I`m not contributing much to this topic, I have to say that Cap10 was PREACHING in the OP. If there MUST be a Trinity, then by no means should Gaga be included.

So I assume the "trinity" is based around US success then?
