Welcome to DAY 5 of the BEST OF 2011 ..half-way CEREMONY!
Yesterday, Duca took the top 2 of Best Album Survivors, scoring #1 with Ciara 'Basic Instinct'. Lady GaGa took no Scheisse when she won the best non-single with that song, and then the On Deck and first 25 singles of Best Songs were announced, followed by an EPIC performance by Beyonce.
Today we will be covering the following:
Best Music Videos: Top 7
Best CDs: #2-1
Best Songs: Top 50 [#25-6]
Plus.. a surprise, final decision performance!
The first category of the day will be announced soon! Stay tuned.
Welcome to our first award of Day 6, BEST MUSIC VIDEOS!!!
There's been tons of amazing music this year, which, usually, leads to amazing music videos. Here's my top 7 of the year, so far:
7. Kanye West ft. Jay Z, Rick Ross, Bon Iver, Nicki Minaj- Monster Music Video here
6. P!nk- F**kin' Perfect
5. Chris Brown ft. Justin Bieber- Next To You
4. Lady Gaga- The Edge of Glory
3. Panic! At The Disco- Ready To Go
An amazing video, the song is already great enough, but this video just makes it perfect. I love the dancing, the different scenes and fun outfits, my favorite part is easily the cannon scene and the umbrella dance at the end.. very underrated and one of the bests this year!
2. LMFAO ft. Lauren Bennett & GoonRock- Party Rock Anthem
I absolutely adore this video because of the fact that it plays off like the horror movie '28 Days Later' and everyone is a 'dancing zombie', and then they become ones too later in the video. The dancing in this video is great and I love the plot, my favorite part is the collective shuffling choreography starting at 3:39
1. Katy Perry- Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)
It's pretty obvious that this would be #1, as well it probably will be on everyones year-end countdowns, I love how they act like it's a movie or TV show with the credits at the end, etc. Love all the cameos, it's a very funny, fun video that you just want to put on repeat 24/7.
The next award, BEST CD's (#2-1), is coming up shortly!
To continue Day 6, we go to our second-to-last category before the big finale.. BEST CD'S!
On Day 1, we revealed the first two albums in this category- #10 is Jennifer Lopez's 'LOVE?' and #9 is Natasha Bedingfield's 'Strip Me'. On Day 2, we saw Nicki Minaj's debut "Pink Friday" at #8 and Panic! At The Disco's "Vices & Virtues" at #7. On Day 3, we showed off 'Who You Are' at #6 and the Femme Fatale herself, Britney Spears, smack in the middle at #5. On Day 4, Adele didn't end up at #21, but rather #4 with '21', followed by Nicole Scherzinger's 'Killer Love' at #3.. here is the two final albums on the list, who got #1, and who came a little bit short?
2. Chris Brown 'F.A.M.E.'
In his best album, Chris Breezy brings some of his best songs in his whole career, which is hard to do with all his amazing hits throughout his life. Each song is great and amazing in it's own way and not to mention addicting.. I've listened to the album with over 500 plays since it's release! (Which for me, is a very large amount.) This album is the reason why Chris went from outside of my top 10 favorites to top 5. A true masterpiece, in my opinion.
Top 5:
5. Yeah 3x / Next To You (ft. Justin Bieber)
4. No ********
3. She Ain't You
2. Look At Me Now (ft. Busta Rhymes & Lil Wayne) 1. Paper, Scissors, Rock (ft. Timbaland and Big Boi)
And the #1 album is.....
This shouldn't be a surprise at all..........
1. Lady GaGa- Born This Way
In my opinion, out of the three albums- this is my least favorite, but only by like, 1%. The album is amazing but it's very different from her usual stuff, why is probably why I think it's a slight step down from both The Fame and The Fame Monster. I love the bonus tracks, the original tracks, hell.. even the remixes! Some of her best songs are on here, and I love them all, I even think that someday Scheiße might take over Bad Romance as my favorite GaGa song, or just my favorite song in general (since BR is my fave). A spectacular album, my most played album of the year so far and my favorite album as well.
Top 5:
5. Bloody Mary
4. Hair
3. Government Hooker
2. The Edge of Glory 1. Scheiße
And now.. to the final award, and the biggest one of them all.. BEST SONGS (#25-6), which will then be followed by a surprise, last-minute addition to the performers list!
And to complete Day 6.. we go to the second part of the final award of the day, as well as the whole ceremony
