I like the BBC edit.
I agree with Deemy, this isn't the end of the world. Don't you all have the original already? If so, then what's the problem? People have access to the original. It's not like BBC is restricting it - they're just making the song a little more radio friendly.

I like S&M and would have loved to choreograph it for my students, but the lyrics are too suggestive. The edit really helps and like Deemy said, I hope a clean official version is released.

Check the edited post. There is no clear definition of S&M on the searches detailed out on Google.
Plus, what kind of parent doesn't use protection on such sites.

'Sexual role playing,' that's PG / 12 at least.

Yes, to you it's just a word, but that's the parent's call when to educate them on sex.
I teach 12 year olds and there's a lotta parents that don't even let the kids listen to radio because of the sexually charged music.
But I digress.
Our point is that it doesn't matter if it's edited or not - with the original one easily accessible, it's not worth making a big stink over.

i'm not saying s&m definatly means bondage/kinky sex with another person..
im saying, its socially seen by adults as a sexual role play thing, and google seems to think so too.

i've yet to meet a parent who has blocked google from their childs.

the first link on google defines s&m to be a sexual role play.. then you search google for that because i don't expect many 12 year old children to understand what that means too, and they get bombarded with images which they really DO NOT need too see.

i fail to see the relevant between s&m and sausage & mash?
when you search sausage & mash, no mention of sex is mentioned?
vice versa when you search s&m, no mention of sausages or potatoes.

again, which the blocking out the words "chains and whips"
if you search "chains and whips" on google, you get sexual pole play images, same with s&m

if you fail too see why BBC has done this then.....

I just saw this on Popjustice in the S&M thread:

Fun Fact: The editing of this song on Radio 1 is actually a consequence of a false report that had claimed they had banned it from daytime play.

The original album version was already approved for airplay 2 weeks ago. Following the widespread banning report & media reaction, they decided to review and reconsider it themselves. They didn't fall through with the complete banning as suggested, but as we can see - they compromised.

So hopefully we can get it changed!
