I didn't expect to see J.Cole around the spot he's in. I found the album to be alright but not much replay value was there for me. Gambino began interesting finally for me and it was a pleasant surprise. Nao + Maxwell + BO
Honorable Mentions: Majid, Kendrick, and Corinne
Albums: DW, TCIA, BITTSM, FAWK, AML, SUMMERS', FS , excellent
Songs: Am I Wrong, Don't Touch My Hair, Seigfried, LOTB, Hold Up, M&YM, SOM
Great sets! Only don't really care for Lady Wood, Joanne and 4 Your Eyez Only
Thoughts on Cudi's album?

4YEO is more cohesive than 2014FHD, but the latter has a strong production. That's why I put it on that spot.

Thoughts on Cudi's album?
Kid Cudi's album is really good and a big improvement from the mess that is Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven, but it has a lot of fillers. I would cut it with 11 tracks and it would be great.
After releasing his second studio album, first "mainstream" album Beauty Behind the Madness, Abel Tesfaye decided to go back in the studio and work for new music, even cancelling his leg tour with Rihanna. He birthed Starboy, an album with '80 pop and R&B influences. This album is sonically not cohesive than the previous album, but the production is a big improvement.
14. KAYTRANADA - 99.9%
I decided to put the alternative cover than the official one because it fits better. KAYTRANADA is maybe on my top 3 of the newbie of 2016. I'm not a big fan of this UK-garage genre but this album is extremely fantastic and the visual art are so good.
13. Kanye West - The Life of Pablo
After two years of delay and changing album titles (So Help Me God, then SWISH, then Waves), finally the seventh studio album by Kanye West arrived and premiered at his Yeezy Season 3 fashion show. When he premiered the CDQ version of Tidal back in February, I didn't like it at much and I thought it was nearly messy and incomplete. Thank god he fixed majority of the tracks because the for-purpose messy concept finally worked. It still feels like all Kanye's albums are all in this project.
12. Anderson .Paak - Malibu
When I first listened this album back in April, I thought that it was Kendrick Lamar mixed with some disco-R&B influences. This album is really enjoyable to listen to.
11. ScHoolboy Q - Blank Face LP
TDE really ruled and won this year in hip hop music. I didn't care about him and his previous albums were kinda weak and average for me. But later, he released THat Part and this sonically cohesive flawless album. Good job Q!
Lady Wood getting saved last minute It's a fantastic album
Dangerous Woman is a biT overrated but only because there are a few fillers that drag the album down. I think it's her best to date tho
Same Ol' Mistakes in the Top 10 It should at least be Top 5 tho given your user name
Queen Dua Blow Your Mind isn't her best song but it's a bopT anyway
Into God is amazing In Common and Love On The Brain
I'm not really crazy over ScHoolboy tbh, he's alright, but nothing more I like some of his features tho and give him props for sampling Chromatics' Cherry on Oxymoron TLOP, Starboy and even 99.9% are too long imo Love them all tho. FAWK, Freetown, Aweken and Malibu are also great!

SO'M isn't placed really high because it's a cover and there are better songs. Wait for them

Obviously all the albums are great and quite lengthy. Blank Face LP is my favorite here. Almost 10 material.
Yeah, it's the Canadian cover of 99.9%. Isn't it flawless?

Ultralight Beam and Saint Pablo are really different but better than Fade. For Abel, you should listen I Feel It Coming, if you like the Daft Punk route
Beyoncé had a successful year in 2013/14 releasing for the first time a surprise album release with every song having music videos, even without announcement and it was a success. Although last year she went back in the studio and worked for new music and Lemonade birthed with a film included. It's divided into 11 chapters named Intuition, Denial, Anger, Apathy, Emptiness, Accountability, Reformation, Forgiveness, Resurrection, Hope, and Redemption. The selftitled lowkey disappointed me because it was a bit lengthy and it has trashy (7/11, ***Flawless, Drunk In Love) and basic songs (Pretty Hurts, XO), but Lemonade was really the album I was expecting by her. It's not 4, but it's a big improvement from the "old-school Beyoncé". ATRL really underrates this album so much because it's the most acclaimed. I will like it more if she releases it on Spotify tho.
9. Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool
Finally Radiohead released their ninth studio album, after a 5-years hiatus and 2 years of working. Majority of the songs were unreleased and were written before begin the album recordings. The album was described as an art rock album and many of the lyrics discuss love, forgiveness, and regret with. It's actually one of the most acclaimed album of the year with 88/100 on Metacritic.
8. A Tribe Called Quest - We got it from Here... Thank You 4 Your service
All I can say with this album is that the hip hop/rap industry really needed an album like this, especially with the trap prevailing that genre. Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed had suffering because on March 22nd, a big part of the group Phife Dawg, died for due to complications from diabetes. And that's maybe why I like it so much, apart from being a comeack album after 15 years, because it's a big tribute to him. R.I.P. Phife Dawg
7. David Bowie - ★
I wasn't that interested in David Bowie's music, although I knew some classic by him, but I decided to give a listen and it was (and is) a masterpiece. Although, the day after, he died and I was so shocked by this awkward coincidence. It's like I have a spiritual connection with this album and him now. R.I.P. legend Bowie
6. Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
I didn't know him until I saw here that Danny Brown was releasing an album called Atrocity Exhibition. The album title really intrigued me and when the artwork was revealed, I was more. It was released 3 days early than its original release date and I was quite impressed by its production.
