#10 Bruno Mars - 24K Magic



I wasn't expecting to like this at all but Bruno really suprised me and this album keeps growing on me listening after listening. I never was a big fan of him and I don't like his persona that much, but this album is good. Obviously it's too short but I like all the songs (except Perm, ugh, that trash) and the best ones (Finesse, Chunky, VOTF) are among his best ever. Just one last thing, he chose a wrong lead single: That's What I Like would've been so much better!

#9 Sia - This Is Acting



With this album Sia finally came out as a true pop star and she gave us one of the most enjoyable records of the year. There are some fillers but the album has a very current sound, it produced hits and it represents very well the music trends of 2016. Little big shame: It was such a mistake not making Move Your Body a single, it would've been another big hit for her.

#8 Beyoncè - Lemonade



Oh well. I never was a big fan of Beyoncè for multiple reasons, but I always recognized her talent and her good music. This year she gave us another great album, the super acclaimed Lemonade; it was a bit overrated by the critics imo but no one can deny that it's a great album. (inb4 someone denies it right now ). It's not her best (Beyoncè and maybe even B'Day are better imo!) but I liked the message behind it and the fantastic videos she released. (and well, obviously the music too).

#7 Drake - Views



This was one of the biggest release of the year (if not the biggest), there was a lot of hype for Drake new album. Even if many were let down by this record, I liked it a lot and I still play it quite often. It's not his best obviously because there are some useless tracks, but there are also some really good songs on it (Weston Road Flows, U With Me, Feel No Ways is my non singles trinity). In general the album is solid and pleasent to listen, even if I want him to improve in quality again for his next record. PS: I'm so pressed @ him for treating his singles like **** and not giving a **** about them, taking lesson from my main fave I see.


#6 Britney Spears - Glory



This was such a great comeback for Britney. After that tragedy that Britney Jean was, the princess of pop gave us a very solid and current pop record, which contains some of her best songs since Circus/Blackout! There are just a few fillers (What You Need and Hard To Forget You are surely among them) but the production of the most of the songs is very fun and fresh. Even if Slumber Party (aka the best song on the CD) flopped I hope she'll release another single (hopefully Just Luv Me) because this album really deserves it.

#5 Jojo - Mad Love



Jojo was one of the biggest suprises of 2016 for me. I mean I already knew that she was talented (she is one of my favourite voices tbh) and that she had some good songs (Too Little Too Late is one of my favourite songs ever, and her last 3 singles from last year were all great), but I wasn't expecting her to release an album like Mad Love. In my opinion the productions are very fresh and curated but also different from what you can hear from the most of today's pop artists. The album goes from pop perfection songs like FAB and Honest to ballads like I Am and Music, from more experimental songs like Clovers to the title track, which I like to call her own little Love On The Brain. Whew, Jojo did that.

#4 Tove Lo - Lady Wood (Vol.1)



Tove Lo never disappoints, doesn't she? After her amazing debut in 2014 with Queen Of The Clouds, the Swedish singer released another flawless dance/pop record; Lady Wood isn't just basic pop dance tracks tho, the productions are amazing and she has a clear message behind her songs, she's a strong sexy woman and she isn't afraid to be that; she's so in your face, and I love that. Talking about Tove discography I still prefer QOTC but just by a little margin; all the songs on Lady Wood are solid, the only one I'm not sure about is WTF Love Is but it's still pretty decent. I can't wait already for Vol.2!

#3 The Weeknd - Starboy



I decided to put this @ #3 just because it was released just two weeks ago, and the others two albums were the soundtracks of my year so they deserve to occupy the top 2; I don't know if in a few months I'll still like this album the way I do right now, but I totally love it at the moment. In my opinion this is the best/second best project from him (I still have to decide if it's better than Trilogy, but I prefer it already to BBTM and Kiss Land) and with this album Abel confirms himself as a pop artist but who didn't forget from where he started. Starboy combines all my favourite genres of music so yeah it's really the album I wanted him to release!

#2 Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman



The best pop album of the year, hands down; in 2016 Ariana added another great record to her discography making clear to everyone that she's the best new pop girl (or at least imo ). Like it happened with My Everything, Max Martin and his team made magic with her and they gave us some of the best pop jams of the year. Like Starboy, this album hasn't filler for me and I like every song on it (well except Jason's Song ugh that trash, thank God it's only a bonus). I can't wait for Ariana's next album already, she has 3/3 amazing albums so far, ahh my ****ing fave.

#1 Rihanna - ANTI



I have to admit that I played Dangerous Woman more but only ANTI could have been the #1 of this list. This was a very important album for Rihanna and for her fans: it was the first time she skipped her yearly release, then she gave us the 3 #R8 singles, then the #Pray4R8 era happened and we all went crazy, then the messy DiaRy, then she cancelled the VSFS performance.. it was really an hard time of us Navys. In the end after the messiest rollout ever the music finally cancelled all the mixed feeling we had during those months: Rihanna released her most experimental but also beautiful album so far. There are some tracks that I don't use (Woo for example, ew) but the highlights of this album made me impossible to not put it at #1 on my albums countdown. Well done, Rih.

I find Anti a bit overrated because I only like half of it but it still has some good songs
Dangerous Woman is far superior imo It has barely any filler
Starboy is probably better than BBTM but I don't love either. Rockin', False Alarm and Secrets
