So! Picking the "stage names" week is finally over and its time for the results.
ARE YOU READY?
Me, Lem and Patrick, the head-minds of the label sat down for hours and talked this through. Who has the best stage name? Who shouldn't represent us?
Check out if you made it after the cut...
1. Bea. ->> Amber Pheonix 25/30
What the judges thought:
- I absolutely love it. It's unique, catchy and cool. Reminds me of "Nicki Minaj".
- It has character, it has an inherent sexiness, and I get a boner just thinking about your mainstream potential. I like the inclusion of Pheonix. It suggests to me that like the phoenix rising from the ashes you too will rise above the ashes... or in this case, your pop music peers.
- Is this 'The Label' or 'The ****star'?
2. sticks ->> Sven 24/30
- I like it, it's different and unique and might catch-up
- Loves it! Probably one of my favorite stage names.
- Simplistic, but it's a name with enough character to stand out in non-Scandanavian regions. There's a certain mysteriousness to a name like Sven; it doesn't inherently say "I'm pop music" or "I'm rock music" and I think that will allow you crossover success between genres.
3. SiXo -> Chris Poljak 23/30
- Nice to see someone take the standard Firstname Lastname route. Not a particularly noteworthy name, but perhaps this will allow you to shine on your own without the flashiness of a name like Quisanaphoniquica. I'm also a fan of the letter "J" when it makes a "Y" sound.
- I'm assuming that's your real name? I like it. it's simple.
- I love it. It has that ring to it, and it's kinda catchy.
4. Errrlend ->
Cherry Eyes 21/30
- Vaguely "artsy" but not so much that it would prevent you from being an artist with mainstream appeal. I like this a fair bit. The period is questionable, so I'll deduct a point. I can only imagine the confusion that will result when your name appears in print and abruptly ends sentences. Maybe you added the period because you feel that you are Cherry Eyes, the end all be all of pop music,
period. If so, bold claim and I appreciate your ballsiness
5. Pedro ->
BRETT JAY 17/30
- BRETT JAY is giving me ****star vibes especially with the initials 'BJ'....in fact, I could go for one right no.
6. Mitchie22 ->
Aphrodite Maslin 17/30
- One of these alone could have been way better.
7. † ΘЯ₣ЄΘ † ->
Orfeo De La Lira 14/30
- Sounds fierce but you could only conquer Spanish speaking countries with a name like that. Sorry darling, but I'm only here for global recognition. That said, I think the name is interesting.
8. Marnie >>
Marnstar 13/30
Sounds like a tranny stage name. Sorry. Points for picking a name that sounds like an 80s cartoon character who's an intergalactic pop star. I like that.
9. HotNCold ->
Jake 13/30
- Basic bitch name. Sorry darling. Like Sven, this is very simplistic. Unlike Sven, this name on it's own lacks a bit of character and seems a bit too common. I would have tacked on a last name or somehow stylized Jake to make it stand out.
10. Chris101 ->
C.Я.S 11/30
- I'm getting robot/Terminator teas from this. I'm not here for our next superstar to be named after an automobile. Will you demand that people do the backwards "R" or will it be like the "é" at the end Beyoncé that nobody ever manages to do?
11. jgaga ->>
Arkaidium 10/30
- Too difficult to pronounce for mainstream consumers. I'm not here for 1980s garage band names.
12. Awkdelicious ->>
Awk 10/30
-
Awkward.
SO IT leaves 2 ARTISTS OUT...
Edi_Shak -> Edward Sayers
