I think that any successful ballad has to have a *huge* chorus. I Am's just isn't big enough for that imo - even Mad Love is better suited in that aspect. I'm sure there will be plenty other choices.

The High Road had so many possible second singles that would've smashed. Still hilarious that they went with f*cking How To Touch a Girl

I don't think there will be another uptempo single... Given how pop is being a little bitch with Apologies, Atlantic will probably drop a ballad and cater to HAC. They're already pushing the clean version of FA there instead of rhythmic, which is a clear sign they want the HAC audience on board and that doesn't bode well for FAB (or Vibe or Good Thing) being singles. I also think the era will be fairly short, since I'm getting the vibe this is a transitional album and a foundation to build on.

But yeah, we're getting a masterpiece in 3 weeks

Honestly, Good Thing is the kinda single radio would need. A radio deal, some performances and Good Thing can smash. I BELIEVE in that song. It's SUPER catchy

It really should resonate with the US because at the same time it's not fully electronic like the demo. It's kinda in between with some jazz/R&B elements.

The most exciting thing about people calling this a transitional album is that it might mean we get another album in the next 18 months. I mean, this is clearly a different album from what the Tringle suggested so she can obviously do quality in a fast time frame. How is she so talented, I can't help but bow down to her.

In a perfect world, forgetting about sales, I hope this is a great album that gets a lot of critical acclaim and forces people in the industry to wake up to her again. That would allow her to get into the studio with some bigger names and hopefully get a feature or two and come out even harder next time.

Tori Kelly gets most of her promo because of Scooter, but it's often also because she's cheap yet she'll always put on one of the best vocal performances. If people in the industry get to know JoJo again and how she sings etc., I think things will eventually start breaking her way.
