I expect it to go like this:
low low low high higher
I don't need eyes to see
low low high high higher
I see you touching me
low low low high higher
High like amphetamine
low low lower lowest
Baby it's just a dream
with a strong rock vibe, sung with madness

I just broke up with my ex in May. During the relationship, I would play Tame Impala to death. They became my favorite music ever, sort of taking Gaga's place in a way.
During the relationship, I struggled with amphetamine dependency. I was afraid of not being competent enough to carry on the relationship or day to day tasks without them. The whole relationship was sort of like a dream to me, and I became so dependent on the energy/high amphetamines provided. When I thought things were going well, he left the relationship out of the blue. He tried to give reasoning, but I know it was dishonest. I still have very little information as to why.
So these lyrics really resonate with me. "High like amphetamine, maybe you were just a dream" I feel exactly that. On top of that, with Kevin Parker production. It's as if Gaga is in my head and my heart and knows exactly what to make.

Third, Nobody likes a music snob sis. Stop acting like you're high and mighty just because you listen to people like Fiona asdfj

"Mainstream" songs can certainly have amazing lyrics, holding them to a different standard just because they're mainstream is just asinine. There are a million mainstream artists who are phenomenal lyricists. And I'm not acting high and mighty, nor do I think I am, just because I listen to Fiona, don't put words in my mouth. I listen to people like her, and just as many mainstream artists, too, and I hold them all to the same lyrical standards. I was just trying to give you an example of actually amazing lyricism, and she was the first to pop up in my head, and for good reason, seeing as she's a lyrical genius. But that's beside the point, if you want to have low standards for the lyrics in the songs that you listen to, or the mainstream artists that you listen to, that's completely up to you. You do you, boo.
Anywho, I can't wait to hear the rest of the lyrics in this song, color me intrigued! They're a tad basic, but they do have potential.

"Oh hey there ATRL! Me and my son Hunty were just walking around the GAP until my phone went BUZZING! *bring bring* my phone went! haha! I finally answered the call and it was my other son, Sistren! He was quickly alarming me that his 100% straight hockey team sang him some lyrics of a mysterious song and that he couldn't stop thinking about it! It was driving him mad!! Me being the amazing mother that I am (I have a "#1 mother in the world" mug for a reason!) *insert casual white woman laugh* I quickly ended the call to help him find out what that song was! (not until I told him how much I loved him and how he shouldn't forget his asthma pump and vitamins of course!) I quickly googled the lyrics and it sent me here! Perfect Illusion is the name of the song and it's sang by that funky and saucy lady named Gaga Lady correct?hahaha!
Yeah I remember falling in love with her ever since her Oscars performance and her top notch vocals on C2C! When I told my 100% straight hockey playing son, Sistren, that it was Gaga! He went insane! He told me that not only is she considered extremely hot to the 100% straight hocky players on his team but that they all respected her as an artist! so yay!! I know my sons Hunty, Sistren and I will for sure purchase this song when it comes out on... September 9th was it? yes it was *insert white middle aged suburban woman chuckle*
Cheers to all of you and do not forget to go to church this sunday ok!? haha!'
Sincerely, Clarice (The #1 Soccer mom!)

All the people saying the lyrics are basic, did you want another "One second I'm a Koons then suddenly the Koons is me" ?

I adore these lyrics
Also reminds me a bit of Lana (Methamphetamines etc.) and gives me hope regarding the song having a little alternativ influence
