I started getting into her when i was a kid during Hung Up's slayage and COADF was the first album I bought (well my parents did).

4 Minutes was popular back when I was in junior high. I just always assumed it was some young popstar I didn't know. I've heard of her and knew Take A Bow and Like A Virgin bc those were big in Jamaica when I lived there but I didn't know how much of a big deal she was until I came on here + saw that Glee episode.

The VMA kiss, I just remember going to school the next day and I could talk about was how Britney and Christina kissed Madonna without knowing who she was... well I also didn't know who Britney was musically though I did know her name. Then shortly after I found out Madonna was the one who sang Like a Virgin, which was a song I knew prior to knowing who Madonna was.

So it just stayed liked that until 2010 when Gaga was accused of copying Vogue, La Isla Bonita, cone bra, etc and I found out Madonna was not a one hit wonder. I realized she made music outside of the 80s.

I grew up with Madonna and literally can't think of a time when she wasn't around....

Even though I was already familiar with most of her big hits and had memorised all the words to Like A Prayer (the album) I'd say it was with her Erotica album and the accompanying Sex era where I really sat up and took notice of Madonna the artist and the human! I was fascinated by what she had to say and her refreshing perspective on life and the seemingly contradictory society we live in....

Anyway, from that moment on I became a full-on hardcore fanatic and have never looked back!!!

I've always just "known" Madonna. It's like Christmas or the Easter bunny. The first time I really got engaged with her musically was the Music era.
