My God how did you remember that? You have such a good memory!
And thinking back on it, I think I was just heartbroken by it. He said that I was nice and he would really have no issues but If I was white or even light "enough" then it would have been ok and I remember it was at a time when I was "discovering" my sexuality and nothing of the sort had ever been said to me before. But even so, even here (Nairobi) where black people account for like 96% of the population euro-centric standards of beauty are still existent as a result of colonization and western influence but even so that was a great shock to me. I got over it after sometime though and I didn't want to be white then and still don't want to be white now.
Plus we are the sexiest.
