Not when the original post is about a white man complaining about a casting choice

Non-black POC can be just as prejudiced as whites. Your anti-blackness doesn't get a pass just because they hate you too.

Well, James Bond is traditionally white, I don't see why he should turn black now

The character has always been white by definition and to say that the writer should change them to black would just be altering someone's creativity really
I mean what's next , Taylor Swift should date a POC and write songs about them just to be diverse? Like literally stop doing too much

Ugh this yall do too much.

Replace Idris Elba with Luke Evans and have Rush rant about how there can't be a gay James Bond. The responses here would be SO different.

But before asking why whites don't go see them, let's ask why blacks don't either. Right now in theaters there's a heavily marketed, r apturously reviewed movie about smart, literate, funny, successful blacks (and other minorities) but the black audience is ignoring it.
The same thing happened with Belle earlier this year.
And Beyond the Lights last month.
All good movies with great black lead roles.

A really interesting point that seems to have been lost in this thread so bump.

Because that **** looks corny as ****?
Black people are not obligated to go out and see a movie, just because white people FINALLY decide to make a non stereo-typical, somewhat decent one if it's not something that interests them. We have had more than enough black movies with that tired plot or something similar.
I'm black and have literally zero interest in that wack ass, cheesy looking movie. I'd rather see interstellar or something interesting with a great plot. Why can't there be a black cast in that

I've said this before. The only rights ATRL cares about are gay rights.

This is a great point, people don't care about diversity unless its their race that gets discrimination.

Eh, people are doing way too much. It has always been the character's personification to be white, casting a black just for the sake of it is pretty unnecessary.
I don't like Idris as an actor nor find him attractive, also.

It's not the direct responsibility of black people to see black movies. If a movie doesn't look good, people are not going to see it, regardless of color.

Exactly!
Belle looked boring as ****, and the previews for Beyond the Lights didn't strike my interests at all.
