I could say the exact same thing about Katy Perry. She only got vocal about feminist issues during Hillary's campaign because being attached to her and performing at her events (like the DNC) gave her a lot of publicity, and had Hillary won she would have had an open invitation to any major political event for at least four years. In fact, Katy denounced feminism during the Teenage Dream era and insinuated that people were overreacting when critics pointed out her cultural appropriation in the Prism era music videos. During those two eras, she never made a peep about feminist issues.

Gurl what? Katy has been continuously standing up for her beliefs and supported racial minorities, women, and LGBT people for YEARS. She has absolutely NOTHING to promote right now yet she still makes lengthy insta and twitter posts about Standing Rock and BLM while going on UNICEF trips and children's hospitals continually doing good to those that have nothing to do with her. Leave her out of this thread

several reasons probably
1.
2. Taylor started out as a country artist with mostly white, middle-of-America, Republican fans. Combine that with the fact that she doesn't speak out against politics, racism, etc. and people could see her speaking out about feminism as a little hypocritical.
3. Ariana tries to be sexy which a lot of young people think means she's a "real feminist!1!!"
