6th:Katy Perry
7th:Leona Lewis
8th:Joanna Martino
9th:Julianne Hough
10th:Pinboys
11th:Kate Voegele
12th:Finley
13th:Theory Of A Deadman
14th:Charlotte Sometimes
15th:Lesley Roy
16th:Lola (She actually got no votes at all, zero!)
Of course! If I put them in the Blue would you really think I have them in my Endchart top 100? I've already done 100-81 so far, you can look back if you wish.
Minus The Spill Canvas, the songs I do know are pretty good. Even Hey Monday isn't bad. However the songs I do know are only about 8.
Therefore I'll go with 7/8 (because it sounds better than 7/20)

Better to do the ones you know than the ones you don't know. If you had followed my chart throughout the latter part of the year, you could notice a pattern with the songs becoming more evenly contested. There was no runaway favorite for #1 unlike years past and this year's #1 on the Endchart is not some fun-filled song, this year's top dog is gonna be more serious than you imagine so keep that in mind.
BEFORE I GO ON, let's walk down memory lane shall we?
2007:Ashley Tisdale - Be Good To Me & Stephanie McIntosh - So Do I Say Sorry First
2006:Melissa O'Neil - Speechless
2005:Natalie - Going Crazy
2004:Rachel Farris - It's All You
2003:Ashanti - Rock Wit U
2002:Ashanti - Foolish
Hilary Duff everyone! Today's a HUGE day so let's get right to it. We have the 10 Artists you need to watch for in 2009, the top 40 by Newcomers, Best Group of the year, 80-61 on the countdown and performances from Shiny Toy Guns, Skillet, Slipknot's frontman returns and Paramore rocks the stage, plus we tone it down with Kenny Chesney and a guitar vocal from a mystery artist. Sounds like a lot eh? Well, when you have a rocking list it has to be entertaining right? Let's go.
80. The Saturdays "If This Is Love" (Chasing Lights) [1,264 pts] Peak:1@1 <#98 on MWC> (56,102) [Airplay:#78]
One of the few bright spots for the World in 2008 as far as MWC #1 success goes. These young girls are no Sugas or Girls Aloud, but they can hold their own with If This Is Love, the dance-tinged first single from their debut CD. This got to #1 after holding off Skillet for a short period of time before surrendering it to them. Mollie and crew will look at 2009 as a chance to make a statement after this song enjoyed 30 shows on.
79. Expatriate "Crazy" (In The Midst Of This) Australia [2,204 pts] Peak:#3 <#80 on MWC> (56,239) [Airplay:#75]
Their expectations were tested after debuting at #22 on the first show of the year, but this band did well by scorching the show with this song that went all the way to #3. This nipped for 31 shows before getting shut down in Mid-May. No success on a follow-up single, but they are one of a handful of Australian artists on the endchart. (along with Stephanie, Delta, Vanessa, Veronicas, Brooke)
78. Sugababes "Girls" (Catfights & Spotlights) England [3,078 pts] Peak:#11 <#45 on MWC> (58,104) [Airplay:#80]
The Sugas have not had a memorable year on the chart but at least they entertained us with this fun video. 27 shows and a peak of #11 helped get the party moving with this upbeat video that showed us their groovy side. 2009 is another chance for them to regain momentum, but their problem is that the Sugababes now have no more room for error however.
77. Girls Aloud "The Promise" (Out Of Control) England [3,115 pts] Peak:#10 <#43 on MWC> (58,149) [Airplay:#79]
Girls Aloud has enjoyed slightly better success, but also didn't have as big of a year as they would've liked. What stood out is that they've had so much success that they can afford a bad run here and there and 27 shows this year with a peak of #10 can help get you there on the chart.
76. Clique Girlz "Then I Woke Up" (Incredible) USA [2,371 pts] Peak:#10 <#75 on MWC> (58,195) [Airplay:#77]
41 shows is what we were treated to from Ariel, Destinee and Paris of the Clique Girlz, all 12 & 14 years old of them. They were the youngest artist to chart in 2008 and by reaching #10 they left their mark, but some thought this would go top 3 or top 5, it didn't. The girls were grounded in September where they couldn't stay on the chart anymore after falling off. Since then, their time-out is over and ready to strike again. (No hating on them please, they're only around 13 years old)
75. Leona Lewis "Bleeding Love" (Spirit) England [2,226 pts] Peak:#6 <#79 on MWC> (58,340) [Airplay:#76]
Few would expect her to be this low. April 22nd was the time Leona reached the #6 spot and was poised for a deep reign on the chart, but things went backward for her afterward. This song spent 30 shows on the chart including 29 in 2008 which ended up with a 2,362 point total. This fell from #50-#105 during Mid-May and never returned to the chart. She'd have a minor stay with Better In Time but has since struggled and ends up the #75 song of 2008, pretty rough considering many would consider this top 10 of the year, not on the MWC. If she has any saving grace, it's that her impact was well-received and she got a lot more fans on the MWC because of this.
74. Natasha Bedingfield "Angel" (Pocketful Of Sunshine) England [4,759 pts] Peak:#2 <#18 on MWC> (58,490) [Airplay:#74]
Angel had the 18th most points on the MWC in 2008 and logged a solid 59 shows on the chart this year and is the first of 3 songs from her on the endchart (the most she's had since 2005) but unfortunately Angel had terrible Airplay, not a lot of fan support and struggled in returns, plus the song didn't do well on radio as hoped and it turned off some people as this got to #2 but got upended and started spiraling out of control. We will see her massive hit MUCH later on.
73. Joanna Martino "Road Less Traveled" (My World) USA [3,129 pts] Peak:#12 <#42 on MWC> (58,501) [Airplay:#73]
Joanna makes her first of 2 appearances on the Endchart in 2008, the first from her debut release My World that came out in 2005 but impacted 3 years later. Road Less Traveled didn't do a lot of damage but for 57 shows she did leave her mark for the most part by climbing to #12 and enjoying a solid run. The song that made her what she is on the MWC will be up later on.
72. I Nine "If This Room Could Move" (I Nine) USA [2,451 pts] Peak:#2 <#72 on MWC> (58,633) [Airplay:#71]
Carmen Keigans and company enjoyed a meaty 40-show reign that included a stint at #2 with If This Room Could Move. Despite no video, this group made South Carolina proud as they worked wonders during the Winter, but as Spring rolled they could go no further. Next CD coming soon from them I believe, hang tight I Nine fans.
71. Pinboys "A Story To Tell" (Pinboys) Denmark [2,873 pts] Peak:#6 <#54 on MWC> (59,103) [Airplay:#72]
This is their first of 2 songs on the Endchart. As Tonight reigned, this song quietly moved up the chart and perched at #6 for a short time, but after 42 shows (21 weeks) the party was over and they were gone by Summer with this song. You'll see their massive hit later.
So 80-71 are now in the books and some surprises include Angel and Bleeding Love not even top 50. A recap coming shortly. Taking us to break is the delightful Kenny Chesney saying something.
Kennyon't go away because after the break, I'm performing for you guys! And the 10 Artists you need to know in 2009, we'll maybe extend it to 15 or 20 if possible.
Wow at Bleeding Love being so low. I know that it's a point system, but that's pretty low for one of the best songs of the year.
<3 A.N.G.E.L & Bleeding Love
As far as singles go, it's one of the top 20 of 2008 IMO. But since I usually chart non-U.S. singles all the time, it's why it is as low as you may think.

Ednita was a pleasant surprise this year PAD. Being the oldest on the chart at 54 really shows you how far you've come as an artist.
Honestly, you can't go wrong with anyone here. Paramore performs for us later, but did they win this award for the 2nd year in a row? Right now, Hayley wants to share something with us.
This video is from Hayley Williams before Paramore was formed called Another Day (it's a Demo)
Now we get to the fun stuff, a whopping 20 duos/groups will battle it out in the Battle Of Best Group. This is actually more of a closer race than predicted. Let's run the nominees by. If your favorite missed the cut, there's always 2009. From Hard Rock bands to Teeny Pop girls, this is a diverse group.
Skillet
Shiny Toy Guns
Paramore
Metallica
Clique Girlz
Barlow Girl
Coldplay
Weezer
Sugarland
Fireflight
The Offspring
Flyleaf
Linkin Park
Inhabited
The Veronicas
Ashes Divide
Saving Abel
The Ting Tings
Nightwish
Within Temptation
20 nominees is a lot! But who did the best?
With a total of 13,294 votes, 5th place goes to Linkin Park.
With 14,306 votes, 4th place goes to Metallica.
With 14,951 votes, 3rd place goes to Paramore.
With 15,613 votes, 2nd place goes to The Veronicas.
With 16,120 votes, the winner is.......
SKILLET
That's right boys and girls, the Christian rockers have taken the top spot as the Best Group of 2008. They came back strong on the MWC after Whispers In The Dark struggled, and now they get their rightful throne.
WINNER:Skillet
It almost seemed like a foregone conclusion that they would win this after what Rebirthing did and that is hit #1 4 times which is the most for a group song in 2008. Now 2009 will have expectations for them and can they meet these expectations with flying colors?
RUNNER-UP:The Veronicas
If you ask Lisa and Jessica Origilasso what they would be thinking to be nominated, they would've told you that they would be amazed. But the fact they finished 2nd here and not much behind 1st is truly something amazing. Untouched hit #1 and spent a lot of time on, we'll see it much later on the Endchart.
THIRD:Paramore
As Paramore takes us to break, we'll tell you that after hitting #1 7 times you would think they'd simmer down a bit. You'd be dead-wrong, they continued to sizzle in 2008 and were just short of 1st place here on Best Group.
Coming up next, the top 10 Artists you need to watch for in 2009 and we have Kenny Chesney performing too after the break. Stay right where you are.
I'm not gonna go into too much detail, you just let me know what you think. I will also put the Worst Video Of The Year too. And like last year, I'll later post my top 40 Random Video clips of the year (some funny, some serious, some historic)
Just do Youtube searches on these to find the videos and enjoy their mastery. Remember this is based on Video, not on song.
40. Stephanie McIntosh "Tightrope" (Still a good video even almost 2 years after being released)
39. Coldplay "Violet Hill"
38. Natasha Bedingfield "Angel"
37. Belinda "If We Were"
36. Flyleaf "All Around Me"
35. Skillet "Rebirthing" (not the best video in the world though)
34. Ashley Tisdale "Not Like That"
33. Carrie Underwood "Last Name" (she's already been on 2 top 20 lists here)
32. Britt Nicole "Believe" (good message, but not really the best video though)
31. Sara Bareilles "Bottle It Up" (She has so many keyboards in this video, why?)
30. Taylor Swift "Picture To Burn"
29. Ludo "Love Me Dead"
28. The Offspring "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid"
27. Red "Already Over"
26. Carrie Underwood "All American Girl"
25. Paramore "Crushcrushcrush"
24. Leona Lewis "Bleeding Love" (both versions)
23. Katy Perry "I Kissed A Girl"
22. Jonas Brothers "Burning Up" (Stop...don't hate please. Good video this is)
21. Rihanna "Shut Up And Drive" (While none of her videos I think were any masterpiece this year, this still stood out in 2008)
20. Stephanie McIntosh "So Do I Say Sorry First"
19. Belinda "End Of The Day/Bella Tricion"
18. Nicole Atkins "Maybe Tonight"
17. Shiny Toy Guns "Rainy Monday"

11. Taylor Swift "Love Story"
10. Coldplay "Viva La Vida"
9. Flyleaf "Sorrow"
8. Santogold "L.E.S. Artistes" (still a creepy video!)
7. Sara Bareilles "Love Song"
6. Natalie Grant "I Will Not Be Moved"
5. Weezer "Pork And Beans"
4. Finley & Belinda "Your Hero/Ricordi"
3. Nightwish "Amaranth"
2. Lights "Drive My Soul" (you'll understand why she's here if you watch the video)
1. Metallica "The Day That Never Comes"
Well there you go. Now watch the mastery of why this is #1. Here's Metallica performing the #1 Video Of The Year and this was actually a shocker!
After the break, we WILL get into the Top 10 Artists you need to know in 2009 and we WILL have Kenny Chesney perform. Hang tight, or I will go Jonas Brothers Kung Fu on you.
Yeah, LP I didn't expect to be so high but the futuristic themed video really was one of the main reasons why I liked it so much. Violet Hill is the same way, IMO it was one of their best videos to-date.
Here's who just missed the boat
50. Krystal Meyers - Make Some Noise
49. Demi Lovato - Get Back
48. The Offspring - Hammerhead
47. RIhanna - Disturbia
46. Charlotte Sometimes - How I Could Just Kill A Man
45. Duffy - Warwick Avenue
44. Pink - So What
43. The Ting Tings - Be The One
42. Ashley Tisdale - He Said She Said
41. Skillet - Looking For Angels
Kaci Brown is one to watch. Here she is doing Here I Go
I have decided to do a Top 20 instead to encourage more people to check these singers out in 2009.
20. Natalie Grant
There's only really one question to answer, will she be able to follow up 2008 with a strong 2009? I will keep an eye on her.
19. Miranda Cosgrove
Miranda's debut CD is coming soon so stay tuned. If any of the songs there are as good as the ones on the ICarly CD, it should be interesting to see what she has to say.
18. Katy Perry
Mainly the reason she is here is simply, 'Will she be able to duplicate her 2008 success?' Well, with Thinking Of You coming shortly it will be interesting to see how she fares while dealing with expectations.
17. Charlotte Sometimes
Still waiting on Video #2 Charlotte, any day now please....LOL. Charlotte is a character to keep your eyes on.
16. Lights
We know Lights had a monster 2008 and 2009 will have some expectations for her, but she will meet them which is a promise I will make.
15. Selena Gomez
Selena will probably have her debut CD coming sometime in 2009. Who knows if she will be able to be as successful as Miley or Demi, or even Ashley too so keep your eyes peeled and please don't say 'She's Disney, she'll be bad.'
14. Meredith Andrews
Meredith Andrews is a singer from Illinois whose debut CD The Invitation came out in 2008 and now she's getting some buzz. But is 2009 ready to welcome her with open arms?
13. Demi Lovato
Yeah, she's a keeper. She will be a big name in the next 5-10 years. Waiting on the next single girl, you're taking too long!
12. Krystal Meyers
Can you imagine for a second if Krystal did not have a big 2008? What would 2009 be giving her? Absolutely nothing. Now that she had a big year, she has to deal with expectations and you know I'm keeping my eye on this girl.
11. JoJo
Well, her anticipated new album is around the corner. Can you handle it?
10. Kaci Brown
Kaci's going a mature direction and 2009 could hopefully be the year she finally gets her big break. She deserves success!
9. Lea Marie
You may think she's gonna fade, but with 3 videos currently on the chart so it's doubtful. But the real question is, will she top World Of Wonders? Maybe doubtful, but hey why not try? And again, don't say she sucks because she's 15 or 16. She has a good voice.
8. Britt Nicole
I have mentioned Britt a LOT in this year's show and we're not even up to where she is on the chart yet. She's #8 here on Artists you need to watch in 2009 and trust me, keep an eye on her. This talented girl is here to stay!
7. Joanna Martino
Her 2nd album is coming soon, she's finishing up work on it and it should be ready soon. With My World already under her belt, 2009 now sees her with a challenge ahead. Can she pull it off?
6. Bonnie McKee
Bonnie hasn't been a notable in the music industry in years and IMO she's got the voice that should put her in the upper tier of singers. Why are these good singers being passed up for played-out ones like Janet whose fading into obscurity for example?
5. Ashley Tisdale
2009, this is gonna be Ashley's BIG year. She will be so tough to beat in 2009 with her pop-rock road she's going in. She will make 2009 look like 2007 all over again on the MWC, that's almost a guarantee.
4. Lady GaGa
OK so everyone's raving about her. Fine, but can she actually live up to expectations of Just Dance with future hits? Or is she just another 1-hit wonder? 2009 will tell the story.
3. Rihanna
For Rihanna's 5th year on the MWC, this is do or die. 2008 was more or so a disaster year of some sorts that she failed to score a top 3 smash. But she does have some breathing room with this 4th CD coming soon. Let's hope her Techno-Rock style gives her something like in 2006 and 2007, and not in 2008. Go get em RiRi.
2. Stephanie McIntosh
Stop me if you've heard this before, I've raved about Stephanie. TRUE! Her music future is still up in the air while she's focusing on acting, but she now enters her 3rd year on the MWC with her 2 massive hits and So Do I Say Sorry First's mammoth record that almost seems untouchable.
1. Britney Spears
OK Britney, you have another #1 album. But now, can your CD sell well and finally make your triumphant return to the MWC? Can you keep scoring hit after hit? Only 2009 can tell her story.
Kenny takes us to break. Here's Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven
After the break, we'll show you 70-61 on the Endchart. 6 rookie singers are in this set, the first of 3 from Carrie and Stephanie, plus O.A.R. and Taylor on the way. Keep it here, or I will make you watch Get Back for 24 straight hours. LOL
