"Sweater Weather"
I Love You.
The success of this song was one of a kind, I weekly check videos of The Billboard Hot 100 list and the song really struggled on the Bottom 50 but finally reached the success it deserves, this song will be higher on my next Year-End for sure. | | | Taylor Swift feat. Ed Sheeran
"Everything Has Changed"
Red
It was difficult for me to rank Taylor's songs this year because all of them were equally great for me but, nonetheless the lyrics of the song are so cute and so is the video, this is Ed's final entry on the list, but we have to see many Taylor songs to come later. | | | Arcade Fire
"Reflektor"
Reflektor
I've liked the music from this band since The Suburbs era and they have always appeared on my Best Of lists since 2010, this time they missed the top 100, probably because this song took a while to grow on me, but Reflektor (album) has many potential singles for 2014, so they will be back on my next Best Of. | | | Imagine Dragons
"On Top Of The World"
Night Visions
The kings of this countdown have arrived, I have to say that this song was a nice choice, lyrically speaking is very different from the other 3 singles, this song has a long way to reach the success of the other 3 previous singles, but I don't care about it, I just hope they can release more songs from the album. | | | MKTO
"Classic"
MKTO
When it comes to music, I sometimes enjoy songs not because of the lyrics or the vocals, sometimes a nice and catchy melody is good enough for me, I still need to check this duo's album, hopefully it has more jams like this one. | | | Bastille
"Laura Palmer"
Bad Blood
Bastille's music took me for surprise, a band with an actual good vocalist, catchy music and nice lyrics. We will see more music from them on my top 100. | | | A Big Great World & Christina Aguilera
"Say Something"
Is There Anybody Out There?
One of the most unexpected collaborations of the year, the song is a little bit slow but still great, I also liked to see that Christina gained the success she deserves and obviously great for ABGW too, let's hope good things to come for both of them. | | | The Xx
"Chained"
Coexist
What I like about The xx' music is that is one of the most interesting acts I've heard recently, and well I still think their best single is "Islands", but Coexist has also great songs and we will see them again on this Chart. | | | Avicii
"Hey Brother"
True
Country and House music together? How is that even possible? Well actually Avicii did an amazing job with this song and I liked that the song doesn't only rely on a catchy melody, it also has good lyrics. | | | White Lies
"First Time Caller"
Big Tv
After how enjoyed their album To Lose My Life back in 2009, I was disappointed with their last album Ritual, it was kind of bad. This year I completely enjoyed this song and also their song There Goes Our Love again. First Time Caller has a great shot of appearing on my next Year-End list. |
