I highly doubt about the quality of this album since she's been into working with no-one-cares writers/producers lately. I wanna be proved wrong though. Personally I want her to go back to pop rock root like Under My Skin, or even a little bit heavier as The Pretty Reckless. I love to hear more ballads as well since they're her strength and if she digs deeper into other genres like she did with GYWYL (not Hello Trashy though) it would be insane. I'd love to see her be successful again which is almost impossible but I'm not giving my hopes up because she deserves it.

this is exactly my fear too, and even worse when we all heard "Fly" and "Get Over Me". I just hope LA Reid clockT.s Avril back to studio like he did with Meghan Trainor until she gets a NO sized smash-hit. We know damn well Epic Records can't make a mediocre songs chart well like other big labels since they can't send their songs to the radio, so they need a big hit in order for their songs to chart Top 10

because they don't have connections with big radio stations like RCA, Interscope, etc.

those either use payola or good relationships that put extra spins on their songs they want to promote.

Epic needs to pray they have a hit in their hands, otherwise radio will barely use their songs. Why do you think it took ages for Fifth Harmony and Meghan Trainor to go Top 10 on Pop radio while RCA sent Sia's "Cheap Thrills" to pop radio after her international success and in matter of a month she was #1. And that's how they got P!nk's "Just Like Fire" and Justin's "Can't Stop The Feeling" be Top 10 songs so fast, and now they're doing it with Britney's new song

Not you acting like Avril was a radio staple before.
She never was played on radio. Hence her most played song remains her first single.
Radio kinda never played her in States because of her Rock-esque Image perhaps and that rock became a fad right after her first era but she didn't ditched it and radio ditched her.
Neither did she collaborated with frequently played on radio artists in her entire career.

Not you acting like she was struggling the whole time with radio like she is today. Up to GL she had at least two songs that were top 10 on both Pop and Hot AC while multiple were #1 on one of these if not both. But then she just started releasing singles that were not gonna get played by the radio in any scenario.
Hot - flop
TBDT - flop
Alice - indie tune that was just too risky for radio
What the Hell - that one actually did okay-ish
Smile - flop
WYWH - top 20 on Hot AC; flop on Pop
HTNGU - something in between of a minor hit and a flop
Rock N Roll - biggest radio failure of her career
Let Me Go - top 20 on Hot AC; flop on Pop

She's still not over on Hot AC. They remember her from her early days and want to give her that staple status but she simply doesn't let them with the songs she's been releasing lately...
