I really love it but I don't know how this will do as a single, though Urban will eat this straight up.

I hope this will be a hit atleast on urban and with the new streaming rules, a good maybe tad shocking video could be it.
Rose Colored Glasses makes a lot more sense now, she may not wrote it, but I guess she recorded it with a reason!

Is there going to be a Bey-alike in the video like there was a Britney-alike in Cry Me a River? lol.

Kelly talking about 'Dirty Laundry' to Billboard.com
Quote:
"Talk A Good Game" is an apt title for Kelly Rowland’s latest album. Rowland’s second set for Republic Records and fourth album overall, due June 18, finds the former Destiny’s Child fully coming into her own as a solo artist with a renewed focus on R&B and her most forthcoming, hard-hitting tracks to date.
At the center of the project is "Dirty Laundry," a collaboration with The-Dream that Rowland premiered today (Wednesday, May 15) on her SoundCloud page. The candid track finds Rowland laying herself bare with frank and often poignant commentary that begins during a rough period shortly after the release of her solo debut "Simply Deep" in 2002. The song unfolds in chapters, with Rowland confronting her resentment over Beyoncé’s post-Destiny’s Child success in the first verse. “When my sister was on stage / killing it like a mother ****er / I was in a rage / feeling it like a mother****er,” she sings, later adding, "Post-'Survivor,' she on fire / Who wanna hear my ********?"
The second and third verses take a darker turn, with Rowland singing about an ex who was "hitting the window like it was me / And still it shattered. He pulled me out and said 'Don’t nobody love you but me / Not your mama / Not your daddy / and especially not Bey.'" Recording the song was so emotional for Rowland, it took her nearly a dozen takes to lay down her vocals without crying. And even at a recent listening for her label, Republic, she had to leave the room before the song was played.

"It was very emotional. It took me days to record," Rowland tells Billboard. "I had to get past being so upset and actually sing the song, not sob through it. I always hope that my music can inspire someone, the same way other artists inspire me. Dream said, 'I want to write you a record so that people will know exactly who you are, underneath it all.'"
The-Dream adds that he had to "push" Rowland to go outside her comfort zone, compiling highlights from different personal stories she shared as he put together the lyrics for the song. "What unfolds on TV or on the Internet, it’s never really that. You think it is but it’s just not," he says. "When you have a stage like Kelly has, you should talk about that part of your life. I think Kelly’s way deeper than that."
Rowland and the-Dream are about to embark on a summer tour, Lights Out, which kicks off May 24 in Kansas City, where Rowland plans to something special with “Dirty Laundry.” “It’s me, a light, and a mic. Stripped and honest,” she says.

I try my hardest to like Kelly and her lil music but I just find her so annoying. She constantly feels the need to take about how Bey and her success has made her feel incompetent as a artist but she's the one who keeps reminding ppl how miniature her career was/is to Beyonce. Now she's name dropping Beyonce in a song hoping it'll receive more attention then the others.

Did you bother listening to the whole song before runin' over here?
Try it and maybe, just maybe you'll understand she's not saying or implaying anything bad about Beyonce.
If anything she's talking about how she felt and how her ex is one of the reasons she felt that way but now she's whole and happy to be "back to her sister".

This song is outrageously honest. From the point where she talks about being in Beyoncé's shadow to the parts where talks about the abusive ex, is her literally laid bare. The guy from thatgrapejuice called it a lyrical testimony, which is spot on. I don't think many pop stars have been this straightforward and direct on such topics.

Very deep song. I am happy she is showing a different, emotional side to the GP. I can't wait for TAGG.

I know it's honest, but certainly there are other artists who have been this honest or more honest in their songs. Maybe for a pop star it is the most honest but this is neither a pop song nor a song by a pop star.

I guess you didn't even listened to the song but just read quotes from the lyrics?

None really come to mind immediately TBH. And you're right about the pop star/song thing, thanks for correcting me.

So proud of Kelly for sharing this!
I really think people will really CONNECT with the song. It's clearly NOT a dig at Beyonce but just an honest expression of her feelings and emotions.
PLUS, it was so brave of her to reveal her battle with domestic abuse.
I feel this could be an unexpected smash!
