I am not gonna lie, I expected better sales around the world especially in Europe. I think she has passed her peak, she's still very popular and in demand but not when it comes to selling records.

She should have released another single before dropping the album.

I don't think she faded, she was gone for a long time but I think everyone was here for her when she made a come back. I think she underperformed because people were expecting songs like Hips Don't Lie that reflect her Colombian roots. She has always been unique for that reason and it works for her imo. No one wants to see her go mainstream we have enough of that already.

But honestly, most of those come from the US where Shakira has never been a big seller, we as Shaki fans don't even care about the US numbers, we're actually ok with 85k.

But Beyoncé sold those records solely on the surprise-factor, and combined with bigger sales in general around December. Sales are in general really low in the first half of the year.

Beyonce is called local and her last "flop" album sold 220k+ outside the US in it's first week (released in the first half too) ... while GLOBAL Shakira couldn't sell more than 100k.
