American Girl.
I agree with what you said about The Wanted. Their hate bandwagon is kinda annoying but oh well.

I got lazy with doing my graphics so I ended up not doing continuous updates. So I'll just do immense ones today
Singles of 2013
80. Emblem3 - Chloe (You're the One I Want)
I never saw myself looking int X Factor USA contestants at all, but Emblem3 to me have always had a unique sound (even if their seemingly D-bags). This song is pretty cute pop song. I mean it fits well with their image for being bro-y, and yet I like how their vocals work well in sync and the production is good. At least this song isn't as sleazy as it could have been tbh. Let's be proud Epic Records didn't mess them up lol.
79. Justin Bieber - Beauty and A Beat
The last real active song Justin Bieber has has on my chart ever. While Justin Bieber is still an active musician, his newer stuff could not beat this bop he made with Nicki Minaj. I feel he should concentrate on making Pop/R&B (which were huge in 2006-2008 which is why i'm probably a big fan of this song), as it work in his favor the most. Sides that, this song was fun thru about March of 2013. Too bad this never topped my chart either (Bieber has been blocked with Boyfriend and this song now. *sigh).
78. Mariah Carey - #Beautiful
This song is a very smitten song when it needs to be. For example when I was done visiting my friends who turned into a couple this year, as I listened to this song before they moved to Hawaii during the Summer, this song just was the feeling I felt they had for each other. Its a memory like that which makes a song more meaningful then the song itself (which when it was originally released, besides Mariah Carey having buzz for the song for being a Mariah Carey song, it was cute but not outstanding like her Butterfly cuts).
77. Swedish House Mafia - Don't You Worry Child
This is an incredible dance song. I always found it funny how this group's break up single ends up being their best selling single and most global. Now that is shady and a mess. The shade aside, the combination of powerful vocals by John Martin and the outstanding production by SHM made for a powerful song. For my chart it did well in the borderline between 2012 and 2013 which is why this song is so low, but its at least on the top 100 and it still slays radio when its played here
76. Carly Rae Jespen - Curiosity
This song is one that I was digging a lot because when Carly released Tonight I'm Getting Over You, yet this song had a simple composition/sound with a unique (yet attempted to be hidden by her record company), I used my frustration to listen to this song more and more (well back in March anyway). Now though, besides the video, the song is okay. I guess i got over this pretty quickly lol
75. Carly Rae Jespen - This Kiss
I find it so funny that This Kiss and Curiosity actually got the same number of year end points this year. I placed this one higher not because it made #26 last year, its due to the fact even now I still can really bop to this song. idk what it is about This Kiss, its a silly bop but its still a bop to listen to.
74. Imagine Dragons - Demons
What a great new act for the mainstream world! With their first 2 singles, I didn't truly click with their works until this song came around. In general I love how diverse their album is. Demons is a song for me that came in October maybe and grew on me (as Radio didn't shove it down my throat yet). If it wasn't for this song, i would have wanted Imagine Dragons to go away after Radioactive, but now I'm cool
73. Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble.
I've had about the biggest struggle in liking this song. I remember about a year ago now this song blew up and everybody absolutely loved it. Me however was loving her other song "Red" (which I still feel is superior to this song). However by late Summer, I re-listened to this (after Radio in LA could not let the song die in July), I began to actually like it! I'm up to pace with the rest of the world, it just took about 8-9 months to do so.
72. Pitbull - Timber
I didn't expect this song to even be on this years chart, mainly due to the fact I feel it JUST got released (in the US anyway). Not to take away from the amazing collaboration for the radio stars Ke$ha and Pitbull, its just so strong soon is all I'm trying to say
71. Will Young - Jealousy
After the 2-3 times where tons of Will Young songs resurged onto my chart, i was bound to have some songs make it into my Year End Countdown. And here we have Jealousy. In this year at least, when I would listen to Jealousy, I would instantaneously get re-addicted to the song, thus driving me to listen to it over and over and hence why its so high on my year end chart.
Albums of 2013:
7. Imagine Dragons - Night Visions
I love the overall sound to this album. Aside from its singles, its very folk, lite rock, and electro all blended together cohesively to present this album. I mean when will Nickelback? I can see Imagine Dragons as a replacement sound for Nickelback since their music is much more interesting (aside from lyrics since Nickelback is still original with their lyrics like Imagine Dragons). I like the sing along feel to the album as well. I'm pretty chill with this

Singles of 2013
*Covers for songs are the same ones I use as on my music player
70. Taylor Swift - Red
This song was to be such a big hit for me this year idk what happened. After basically listening to this song obsessively during December of 2012, I was sure this song would carry on through while distracting me from I Knew You Were Trouble doing so well. Well it did okay, and when it was released to US Country Radio, it resurged onto my chart and it did okay, but in the end Okay does not make the top 10 of my year end 2013 countdown. So alas. I love the song still tho.
69. Lana Del Rey - Summertime Sadness (Cedric Gervais Remix)
So besides Video Games and Born To Die (Song), I never really truely looked into Lana Del Rey in 2012 (for 2012, it was THE YEAR OF PROPERLY EXPOSED TO WILL YOUNG). When this dance remix version of Summertime Saddness came on LA Radio, I knew it was Lana, but I could never have imagined this song would be a hit in the US. After listening to the remix more, I started to play the remix more and more. It ended up doing better year end chart wise then VG and BTD. congrats Lana
68. P!nk - Just Give Me A Reason
I would like to clarify that this is the only P!nk song this year. I know Try and True love were singles of P!nk's but both I couldn't get into very much at all. I was underwhelmed with the song and i could care less. This song I kind of cared less, but I enjoyed/cared enough to listen to it because of its simplistic and generalized song meaning. Plus I'm a sucker for ballads and Duets! So P!nk got a fair shot and landed in my top 100 for the year 2013. Congrats
67. Maroon 5 - Love Somebody
This song was an unexpected entry to say entirely. With their album OVEREXPOSED, Payphone was okay but nothing too unique, One More Night was okay until it got 9 weeks at #1 over PSY for which I would then loathe Maroon 5, and Daylight was another song that US Radio would try to push onto me and I seriously could not get with that song (I'm glad it didn't go higher in the US then #7). Then this song came out in the Summertime. During the summer I gave the song zero attention and only charted it if it ever landed in the US Billboard top 10. Then I actually decided to give the song a listen in late August. I basically had to eat my own words about how I felt about Overexposed, and to say that I really like this song! Its a very interesting sounding song, simple song meaning, and very intresting video. It was way more interesting then the first 3 songs they released, this song has made me eat my words pretty much.
66. Will Young - Switch It On
I have mixed feelings about this song. After listening to a string of Will Young songs this year and each period of this year had a different Will Young song pushed onto me, this one was in destination to be some sort of top 2 hit (since besides Leave Right Now, Anything is Possible and other songs I never pushed onto me, SIO had a destiny to succeed). This was not the case. The song caught onto me for maybe a few weeks hardcore and I almost thought this would be a #1 hit. Better releases/song came my way and it blocked the song to peak at #4. I waited til Summer to enjoy this song because it fits right into summer a bit and it doesn't really fit in other seasons. I did what I could. Its an okay song to listen to, but its very limited in how I enjoyed the song.
Down below also was the schedule in which i spaced out listening/pushing Will Young songs to listen to (yes I do operate like a Radio station in some senses)
The Schedule of Will Young "releases":
January: Believe
March: Grace
April: Hearts On Fire
June: Hopes & Fears
July: Switch It On
September: Runaway
November: Evergreen
65. Olly Murs - Troublemaker
Olly Murs' only single people in the US know about and I could care less for this lol. This is basically Maroon 5's Misery trying to re-happen. For both Misery and Troublemaker, while both sound unique in their own ways, it never clicked with me into extremely loving these songs in a stan kind of way. Both songs were close but never just perfect for me. I didn't mind the addition of Flo Rida either considering it made Troublemaker more different then Misery.
64. Anastacia - I'm Outta Love
My first song exposure to Anastacia! This song I chose to rotate/listen to during my Summer to have a decent/cute bop for the summertimes (as her other stuff for me suited the Fall/Winter). I think if I found the Radio edit for this song (a Good one) since the long intro really would drive me to change the song quickly, it could have done better because its a bop!
63. Blake Shelton - All About Tonight
In seeing Blake Shelton live, this song resurged mainly since I knew the song a lot better after the concert exposure. Its another song about living it up, and for wanting direly to listen to Blake Shelton, this song took early rise in the Early Summer times. This was also my way of paying absolute dust to Boys Round Here, I just could not get into that song, it just never clicked (and I couldn't relate to the song that well)
62. Katy Perry - Unconditionally
Katy Perry's first non #1 song from me since Waking Up In Vegas (WUIV peaked at #5 but still snatched my #12 spot on my 2009 year end countdown). I really never saw why Katy released this. Dark Horse from when it was a promo single looked pretty ready to slay (as it debuted at #17 as a promo single. It screamed RELEASE ME), yet they didn't pull what Lady Gaga did with DWYW, and at Katy request for Capital to push this song. Now to be shady, this song always seemed a bit underwhelming for me to be a single. Katy's songs usually have some sort of pop (at least her #1's, HNC & WA anyway), but this song didn't really stick out with me. It did well for a week or two (as its peak is rather high), but it just could not sustain it that well. eh
61. Ke$ha - C'Mon
Ah, Ke$ha's second entry. BTW when it comes to Ke$ha's releases so far, I'm super buzzed about her (as she's such a fun artist to listen to). I mean I was definitely stanning for her at different points of the Warrior era. This song was partially one of these moments. I mean it got to a point where I liked the song so much it rode into my top 6. However I got kind of bored of it and I really really was still into Die Young (hence why Die Young has not be revealed yet). This song was a sub-par hit to what I felt was a hit for Ke$ha for most of the year. It was still a good song regardless. In listening to the song now, I get a rave kind of feel to it!
Albums of 2013
6. Kanye West - Yeesus
You know i think people really should give Kanye's Music a chance. Now I can agree to an extent his outside demeanor is unique and a bit aggressive (the rants he does at concerts portrays this very well), but for what I look into music, I tend to ignore Kanye's persona and listen to what he places onto the music scene (I have tried to do the same for Chris Brown, but his quality is gone from thee Exclusive days). Anyway this album gave me a perspective on Kanye's personality and his stances on society (Bound 2 & New Slaves respectively notably). This albums production is incredible as well, like when will will.i.am. Kanye's production and works on this album are just so unique, i cannot target who Kanye might have copied. Its a strong original effort, and I can respect his musical directions (which has moved from the Radio hits life to just strong albums).

Singles of 2013:
* Albums/Singles Covers appear as they do on my music player
60. Amelia Lily - Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got)
Ah the disappointing follow up single for Amelia Lily This song was supposed to outdo "You Bring Me Joy" (which went #12 on the 2012 year end chart). But this paled in comparison to YBMJ. She was shouting it seemed compared to YBMJ. Then this girl has the nerve to then after this song release "Party Over". Like her material after YBMJ was a flop IMO. I feel she has so much potential (which is evident on this track). I minorly embraced this song, but this song isn't good enough to repeat over and over like I could with YBMJ. So it was an okay track
59. Girls Aloud - The Show
Well this song did pretty well for being the first #1 song of 2013. This song I had never heard of before the "Ten" greatest hits came out. Upon listening to this more properly, I really got into it! There are some Girls Aloud song that I really get into and there are other songs by GA I pass up. This song for some reason really caught me and appealed very well to my ears. It did well since it was new to me (and it was something to promote the "Ten" album for me since "Something New" was already finished.
58. Disclosure - White Noise
This is the only entry for these two acts (even though their really good acts). This song was a catch because of the production of the track and the hooks Alunageorge gave. This song would be interesting to listen to in the late summer, but it wasn't anything that had a true moment of success for me. It was just popular enough to hang around my top 10 (and groove around at the club), but nothing for me to go crazy over and listen to on repeat
57. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop
I'm not sure if this song should have done better or worse on my chart. I mean because of my chart rules, this song was going to stay in the top 40 (since the Billboard top 10 is required to be in my top 40 at all times) for a very long time anyway. So on the occasion when I got into the song, it would move into the upper 20's (and eventually to its peak of #17), but I mean it seemed like a fun song to use around friends, but by myself it was okay.
56. Jessie J - Domino
Well, this song has some explaining to do. Well a certain member from ATRL by the name of JessieJHeartbeat and Jessie J's up and coming album saw Domino to succeed in 2013. Pretty much beside the fact its one of my favorite songs to randomly play out of my collection, I know the buzz of her next album was huge enough to see this song to do well in 2013 (much similarly to 2011).
55. Lorde - Royals
Lorde did pretty okay on my chart. Not that I was not here for Lorde, but Royals was a rather cool song I embraced, but nothing too concrete. The week I listened to this was because my friend thought this song was so cool. I got relatively into the song, but not enough to go stan crazy over the song like most of my peers did (probably with her album as this song pales in comparison (so I've heard)). Anyways this is an okay song, but it did well for the memories of this year
54. Luke Bryan - Do I
Alright this song is a sad anthem This song was pushed mainly when Luke Bryan achieved the most chart success this year (August/September). This was a ballad I remember hearing from 2009. Back then I didn't care for anything that wasn't Rhythmic/Pop Music. This year however I changed my tune a lot, and going back to one of Luke Bryan's finest works was helpful to see he was a better artist before his album "Crash My Party". I really was glad this song was a success, I mean I feel his pain about satisfying his love by asking "Do I, etc" which is his attempt of keeping the relationship together. I also found the song to be one that was so hot for him to sing, Especially on the last "DO I"'s he sings, its everything! (I guess men showing emotion is everything!)
53. Sukkerchok - Hvor Som Helst - Nar Som Helst
Alright, if I didn't explain how this song came to exist in my world, here's a recap. I was looking for Danish music to play for my friend while she was doing Danish homework, we found this sleazy song, We embraced the sleazyness, and then the rest is exposed. The song went to #1 for 2 weeks practically on buzz alone. I don't understand the words except for the chorus and overall meaning, but it sounds like a sleazy song i can share with future Danish Friends
52. Bruno Mars - Treasure
This song is funky as hell! I love this song! I remember this would be a song too really kick off my summer drives. At first when I was exposed to the song, I thought it was okay, but as soon i paid attention (with the help of some radio play), I ended up really liking the song (this song peaked at #3 (a first for this era)) and seeing it as a funky summer song. Too bad it didn't push higher and longer on my chart, but it is a great song!
51. Justin Timberlake - Mirrors
This song is a really excellent song tbh. Now the reason why this song didn't end up doing better was probably the Radio shoving the song down most people's throats! I mean every radio station would play this song like crazy. One could not let the record be appreciated for being a great piece of music (it becomes a struggle when people just keep playing the songs over and over again). I mean this is coming from someone who hardly listens to Radio. The song actually peaked even really early from when the US Radio had this at their #1 most played spot. Now listening to it in Late December, i see this as a nice song, but that summer I had to avoid it as much as possible
Albums of 2013:
5. Solange - True EP
WOW Solange!!! I love the direction she has gone into from leaving her mainstream album life. This EP is so strong in its production notably. I love the songs like Lovers In the Parking Lot and Losing You (I'm really a sucker for retro R&B I guess). This is a favorite soundwise that I need to get back into, but i love that Solange took this direction and it will be exciting to get an album eventually to properly do Solange even more justice.

*Album/Singles Covers appear as they do on my music player
50. Blake Shelton - Sure Be Cool If You Did
I never saw this song through until it started getting big in the USA in March when Country Music began to get a big push on my chart. This Song was embraced because it was composed very well. Typically I bypassed the opportunity to listen to Blake's Music, but in hearing this song I gave him another shot. I do like his vocals and sound now that I evaluate his music overall. I'm glad this song came out to recognize his potential he has. Anyway I don't care to comment on lyrically this song is doing this high, it was a simple country diddy, so let's leave it at that. But it sure helped a lot that i saw him in a free concert and meet & Greet (his eyes are so blue and HE SO TALL in height!).
49. Ariana Grande - Baby I
I was in love with song back in the late summer when it came out. This song is so Mariah-esque again! I think I was all about this song because of its R&B Pop feel, her talent, and upbeat summery feel. Also her singles cover is so pretty! i don't have distinct memories from this song, i just knew it was a fun song to listen to.
48. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Can't Hold Us
This Song was a success because it was a very moving and fun song. I also have UKMIX's Toni_Pest to thank for pushing this song. He kept commenting in wanting me to see this song into my top 10. While it took FOREVER, eventually it made it to my top 10. If it wasn't for toni_pest, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis would have not had a top 10 hit from this huge mainstream era! I mean for Hip Hop songs, they have struggled to make it past the top 30 of my chart! But this song was different enough and had enough of support from forum site posters for this song to do better. Go y'all
47. Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man
Now I cannot relate directly to this song, but this song had a great vocal to it. One could sort of feel the pain and passion Bruno was placing into this song upon singing it of course lol. Anyway I would be a bit off and on when listening to this song. When i did listen to the whole thing, I felt his passion and played it more. Then other days i would hear this song and it would bypass it for more uppity song (I mean you can't always be depressed when your driving/living life, or that's what this song felt like, depressing). Anyways its a good song, and I'm glad it did pretty well on my chart.
46. Robin Thicke - Love After War
Note this song peaked in January of 2013 before Blurred Lines. I feel like Robin Thicke is getting hate because of his persona now a days, but before this he was and is a great R&B vocalist. Firstly this song came out in like 2011, and I bypassed it because of Rebecca Ferguson's Heaven & Will Young's Echoes came out during the time. So after i attended a Charity Event with my dad, Robin Thicke performed this song alongside his other 2 big hits Lost Without You & Magic. Eventually I started listening to this in late 2012, hence it making my year end chart now. It was just a smooth song (I mean the video had his wife in it). This was before the whole Blurred Lines stuff (when his music took a huge tangent).
45. Ciara - Overdose
This song was a very cute song. I mean I always knew the GP would never pick up this song because it would have worked maybe back in 2009. Like the song is a perfect blend between her overt Dance Material and R&B (much like her debut era). I liked the song because of these reasons. I really like the poppy feel to the song (which fits Ciara's voice), plus who could not stop listening to Ciara after Body Party?
44. Nicki Minaj - Va Va Voom
I did not think I was going to write this entry because this song did only moderately well back in Early 2013. But then a resurgence in September 2013 helped this song jump to a new #2 position and ensured a spot on the year end chart. Now to be frank, I like the overall sound and structure of the song much more then Starships & Pound The Alarm (basically their pop songs), as this fits a good balance of Pop and Hip Hop compared to her previous 2 pop singles. I was disappointed with the song not being pushed more then it was (the video only UGH), but this remains my favorite Nicki Minaj song!
43. Rihanna - Stay
This song is a well written and composed. This Rihanna song being basically the first one where its just vocals and a piano, like its already looking like for her she turned a new leaf in her potential to grow as an artist. All the above is what turned to liking this song. Most of these songs i like even though their based around relationships, this song had a positive message to not give up really. For me it made me embrace Rihanna more as if she had some personal growth (I know she didn't write this song, but her vocals showed emotion very well). This is my most played song on last fm (although OG should have been), this song is incredible and a step up from Diamonds (which wasn't as great as this song).
42. Britney Spears - Work B**ch/Work Work
Sorry I use both version of the song for few reasons. The Work Work version of this song is so fun "Now get to work" "Your better Work Work" like it is the darnest funniest thing to listen to! Now Work B**ch obviously came out first. Obviously I gave it a shot because its Britney Spears. The track seemed hot, but the whole "Work B**ch" thing was kind of weird. Like I would want to ask Britney "Work What? Why are you coming for me?" Basically, I used Work Work more for the good laughs of the "Work Work" lines, but really, this song was rather messy.
41. The Wanted - Satellite
I think The Wanted get so much hate probably for their mouths when they talk. But let's not shade the fact their music is brilliant! This song for example, came off their American EP, this song is so moving, and their voices work so well!I mean the composition of the song is so so good, and the message is good in general to just enjoy things! I pushed this song since they didn't release anything after their successful song I Found You, and I needed something to listen from them. So yeah.
Albums of 2013:
4. Will Young - Echoes
I know its no longer 2011, don't remind me I have pretty much listened to this album all year round (see my singles chart), so i was obliged to place this on my top 10 albums. Aside from the singles, this year I got even more invested in the album cuts particularly (as they would haunt my life I guess lol) enough to keep rotating this album. That's all i can explain why i still have love for the album, i just can't get enough!

Singles of 2013:
*Albums/Singles covers appears as they would on my music player
40. Will Young - Evergreen
Now i know how generic this song is. I mean firstly this is a cover song of a Westlife Album cut. It has filler written all over it from the Westlife album, hence its pretty much filler for Will to be singing this. So then how does this song I just shaded so much end up in my Year End Countdown? Well, this was a very good song for the winter in my opinion. When i think of Evergreen, i don't think about making the night Evergreen, I just think of a tree tbh. Plus the production is okay, and its Will Young singing it. i choose to ignore the words for most of the song, because the structure of the song is great! Its not meant to me to be too deep (as some songs to come. But I embrace the song decently. Don't Hurt me crazycrazy, at least it adds onto Will Young's 16 #1's
39. Samantha Jade - Firestarter
The new Aussie X Factor Winner got her first single to #1, Well hell yeah! This song's breakdown i absolutely live for! This song was one that came at the end of summer (and much like Untouchable), they fell through eventually. But this quick little hit from Sammy (whom isn't my mate) is a catchy song indeed. Her vocals were on point and the production is excellent! No interesting things about the song to me besides those points (The production was great).
38. Raven Symone - Some Call It Magic
My friend's impact! A major Raven Symone stan I know really tried to push onto me as much Raven as he could, and look at that, Raven made my chart! While she peaked at #3, I remember watching the video everyday before her vevo video would reach 1 million hits on youtube. I think with all of the buzz around Raven this year, she was able to do decently well, as one can see she is #38 on my year end chart!
37. Justin Timberlake - Suit & Tie
When I revealed my top 100 from last year's countdown I made a joke this being my #1 song of 2012. It was a joke since Justin literally released it while I did my final updates. Anyway, this song is classy but a bit boring. When it came to the song's success on my chart, there were week's I was buzzed about Justin Timberlake, and then others where I just didn't care for the Track. i mean when I got into it, it was a good jam, but it was hard getting past the long intro (the Radio Edit i got too late to begin to listen to the song anymore, by the time that happened, I got Mirrors). So idk nothing too special about this song, but it needed to be on the list to remember 2013.
36. Daft Punk - Get Lucky
Wow this song typically would underrate wouldn't I? This song started off strong for my chart and I thought it would smash more then it did. I mean it was probably Blurred Lines that took Get Lucky's thunder to do well on my chart. I mean when I'm listening to this now I just see how this could have done well, had Blurred Lines never existed. I mean it was a funky song to listen to when driving, but I would place many songs ahead to listen to before this. All Well.
35. Jason Aldean - 1994
Oh What was I thinking at the time this song was blowing up. I'm almost a bit embarrassed how much I was staning for this song (Is this my future when it comes to TMKON?). I mean back when this song was slaying my song, i thought it was going to be another country #1 (much like his previous 2 singles on country radio did, alongside Dirt Road Anthem did (as that was Country Hip Hop)). Soon even with high sales, Radio ignored it enough for it to peak at #15 or something, much to my disappointment. I think I'm embarrassed that it flopped so bad and I even shaded a lot of Carrie Underwood fans over this song's hype I had for it. But anyways I did legit love the song really, I remember during Spring Break i had this on repeat for like 10 hours that I kept repeating (not cheating for last fm scorbbles or anything like that mess). It was to me like another anthem (hence it success), but UGH at this flopping on Country Radio.
34. Gary Allan - Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)
Ok out of the three songs that were really pushed on Country Radio in February 2013, this was the most pushed and probably my favorite of the three. This song is so much deeper then the other two anyway. Its a great song to drive to and its so passionate. I never realized how great the song really was until May when the song was dying down. It also gave me courage to be looking forward and know Every Storm will run out of rain (even if the actual song has nothing to do with Personal Embodiment, but hey, its my music, my opinion lol). I'm most glad to have found Gary Allan with this song. Its so good y'all
33. Lady Antebellum - Downtown
This is the groups only charting song from 2013 unfortunately, which is sad. This song did pretty well on my chart following the February when Country music was beginning to push this song. I Loved Lady A in previous era (I even have their past LP's and everything). I was excited for their comeback, and I felt this was the most appropriate way of coming back, a nice country song. This to me was a song to tell me "Get out of the house and go have fun". Good times, but seeing as this song didn't peak higher, I didn't go out that much anyway lol
32. Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball
This song I never expected to succeed on my chart either! I mean I never saw after the success of We Can't Stop and basing my perspective on her "Times of Our Lives" era, I didn't expect this next single to do well commercially. Thankfully I was wrong. This ballad is a uniquely written song. You can feel she knows how to emote very well in the song (as you can relatively feel her pain in the song). She's a pretty good actress if she didn't mean the lyrics she was singing in the song. Anyway it took me personally some time to warm up to the song, and I am proud it did so well
31. Florida Georgia Line - Cruise
Alright I did hear this song before the Nelly Remix came out. i have a confession, The Nelly Version>>>>>The Original. The overall song of the remix for me was what the song needed to move past being such a plain song (I felt this song sounded a lot better and fit the whole Cruise feel of the song). The Nelly part also fit the song very well too (very much Ride Wit Me). I just know this song sounded the best when speeding on the freeways and just Cruising believe it or not
Albums of 2013
3. Ariana Grande - Yours Truly
YEASSS!!! This girl has got a voice and a strong sound! I've been waiting for a record to comeout like this since the genre really stopped producing these Pop/R&B albums which i think are the best. While most albums I like for the production, this album's production is much more simpler and my love for this album is the strong voice Ariana has inside of her. Her personality is adorable (much like a 1999 Britney Spears) and her album is full of her and her flirtatious / R&B Soulful lyrics. Go Ariana!

30. The Band Perry - Better Dig Two
Thank Country Radio during February when my friend from the city loved country music and only wanted to hear country music, and the Radio was pushing this song to death (It was #1 on Country Radio at the time). I eventually heard the song everytime I would turn on the Radio and it really caught on. It became an anthem I memorized very well, not that I'm married or in a relationship or anything, but its such a Before He Cheats type anthem. I think i liked the song for that and to appreciate some good country music from 2013.
29. Will Young - You And I
Another Will Young song that made the next year's year end chart! This to me is a very generic ballad by Will. I think I was always buzzed about this song because i alway saw this as a Will Young song that showed Will had potential to sing more songs then just cover songs. To me it was like an underdog mentaltality to playing this ballad then say All Time Love (which is a beautiful song let's not doubt that). With that buzz it was able to top the chart during the Will Young chart dominance week. Its re-entries were based on the buzzed feeling around Will Young's underdog sound from this song, that I appreciate as I type this.
28. Rebecca Ferguson - I Hope
Rebecca DID COME BACK AFTER ALL!!!! I didn't know when her next single would be released if she ever did (my doubts are based on Alexandra Burke's Album release for Heartbreak On Hold). This anthem of instead of saying F U, its still very shading I Hope life treats you good! This song was going to head to #1 no matter what (because its Rebecca Ferguson, she I will play her over and over again! With that I also loved that she did a proper upbeat song, not as upbeat as Backtrack, but I'm satisfied with the overall result.
27. Johnny Ruffo - Untouchable
Alright, much like Rebecca Ferguson, i guess I semi stan for Johnny Ruffo a bit. He's this 3rd place X Factor winner who is great looking, Can Dance, does okay with singing, but he's who I though should of won X Factor Australia (Reece Mastin is not tea, He looks odd and his singing is okay, but a Rockstar! Boy X Factor isn't for rockstars!). Anyway tangent aside, I was all over this song (even if it failed to compare to the flawless On Top and Take Me Home, but it did well on my chart. I just always want to see this guy succeed, so whether I make myself believe he's better then he is, I gotta do what I gotta do. So whatever. As for the song, the video is everything, but the song isn't appealing as his other works
26. Ariana Grande - The Way
This song has made an impressive debut from this new debut artist. What a voice first of all Ariana has! This song deserved all the success it got because SHE is a talented vocalist! Now onto the song, i love the R&B Hip Hop vibe this song brings. i also love the Mariah-esque vocals she brings to the track. Now I will admit when I actually paid attention to the song I loved it, but if i didn't really pay attention I would pass the attention for the song, hence it only doing decently well and not any better. The song is very here and there hence why this ended up happened to be her final chart position. Glad she made a presense
25. Johnny Ruffo - Take It Home
This early 2013 hit was a smash because the name "Johnny Ruffo" was written on the track. Now in no way could i really relate to the theme of the song (I'm not THAT sexually active lol). I think the upbeat tune really appealed to me. I also like his sound on this track way more then On Top and Untouchable. This song should be more successful IMO based on the song's structure. But then again the song's lyrics and production can be a bit generic and plain. I love that kind of music, but its not everybody's cup of tea
24. Drake - Hold On, We're Going Home
What kind of underrated smash? I swear for most of the time when this song was doing well, it was lingering for its entire chart reign it seemed between 11-20! Nonetheless, this song did shockingly well and I didn't expect it to do so well. I would play this song very often mainly when I was going home from school (which for me can take 40ish minutes driving). Song wise is very chill and enjoyable to continue listening to it
23. Solange - Losing You
This song is incredible. What it took for me to really get into the song was the silly random screaming in the beginning of the song. People I talked to said they couldn't get into the song because of specifically of that screaming. One even said it sounds like a Cat dying or something. OF COURSE STUFF LIKE THAT DRAWS ME INTO A SONG MORE! With that, i listened to the song, and wow what a masterpiece. I mean the overall feel of the song is so original and the message of the song is so deep and yet so cool. This song is special to me and I'm glad it did well this year.
22. Will Young - Grace
Alright, this song was relatively new to me back in January 2013. This song was a song I shaded in the past since it did so poorly on the UK charts. After a few listens, it fit a bill of what I look for in Will Young songs that I love. It made me feel classy and Graceful as I listened to this song. It helped me keep calm during stressful times and handle things with Grace (which thank goodness it did, sometimes when I'm not Graceful, i tend to go nuts lol)
21. Luke Bryan - Crash My Party
So Luke Bryan came back to the mainstream light after he did so well with his last LP. For me, his first real hit for me was his single "I Don't Want This Night To End", which did well as a country ballad back in 2012. This song was a decent comeback for Luke. This song to me never really did well enough for me to go crazy stanning for him moreso then in his past work. It was a great song to listen to while cursing the summer roads, but it was a decent comeback to what we saw from him from Tailgates & Taglines.
Albums of 2013
2. Rebecca Ferguson - Freedom
I love how Rebecca has grown a bit into her own sound now (moving outside the Retro feel of her debut album). It all has a sense of empowerment and Strength I'm not really used to seeing in Rebecca (as before she was not as confident) and yet this album remains very humble. I love songs like Freedom where she declares she is Free (hopefully not from her record label because I could just cry over the chart performance of this album) and she is stronger now. I'm awaiting more songs like this to know she is confidently free and I Hope we see that in coming singles and performances (I Hope).

Singles: 20-11 and #1 ALBUM!
Singles of 2013:
*Albums/Singles Covers appear as they do on my music player
20. Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop
This is Miley Cyrus' highest year end chart countdown entry ever! The Climb back in 2009 placed #21 you see. This year I was so proud of Miley and her success! I mean after "Can't Be Tamed" and thinking she peaked at "Party In The USA", I was disappointed if she would flop. Luckily however she became a huge star of 2013 instead and I'm so glad it worked out for her! As for chart success, she was really active in the top 20 (not peaking higher then #6 however), but I loved the song none the less. I used this song to be excited about her controversial ways (the Molly reference and just not being able to stop lol). I love it!
19. Daniel Bedingfield - If You're Not The One
Alright, some truth time, I used this song to be an anthem following well, um, after "self maintenance". So literally everytime I finish my "self maintenance", I would play any kind of song, just for September I would do this. I mean let's not doubt i did listen to this back in gosh 2002 (when I was what 11), and this got an appreciation for being a strong recurrent song, but the cause of my 22 year old body has needs and loves using song for various reasons. This one is just so low brow even if I love the song regardless
18. Will Young - I Get The Sweetest Feeling
Another funky cover song from Will Young. This song had a really good jive feeling when listening to the album version of this cover song. It spent I think 3 weeks at my #1 too. I liked the song when i was driving around during my summer. idk its a cute simple cover song, idk if I have much more to say then that. Go Will?
17. Katy Perry - Roar
Oh this song. So this is really awkward for me. See normally I would have embraced this song like its my bread and butter as a Katy Perry stan. Well....Not so much. TBH its a bit overrated how good song this is. I mean for a good week I got the whole concept of the song, but then now I don't at times as well. I can listen to the song tho. BTW the only reason why this got to #1 was because of playola on my behalf (for which in my two means of chart calculation, it never hit #1 on my Zune or CD Plays). This song to me will never do for me what a majority of the Teenage Dream songs did, They will all place above this song (now if were talking Dark Horse, then we might talk).
16. Luke Bryan - Drunk On You
This song was doing well rather late (as it was released in 2012). Let me start by saying I only was here last year for "I Don't Want This Night To End". In seeing the success of "Crash My Party", Luke's discography started to pick up. I then began to listen to this song more often (since Summer was coming to a close when this song really took off). This song reminds me so much of summertime and its in a cheerful way as Summers can be fun and amazing. Hence why this song did so well in the fall (as I kept dreaming about summer days).
15. Olly Murs - Army of Two
Ahh my Spring hit for Olly Murs. To say the least, Olly Murs did a decent job this year. This was the song that really carried his music at least 3/4's of the way into 2013. I mean for me Troublemaker was a decent size hit, but nothing to say a smash for me at least. That's where this song comes it. It was new Olly Murs for me, it did a consistent job, and it helped to get my buzz in seeing Olly Murs in May going. After I saw Olly live, he was able to solidate his #1 and thus made his single last for at least the first part of the summer. I think what I like most about the song is the anthem vibe the song beings (just like the video does as well).
14. Lady Gaga - Applause
Look who won my Applause versus Roar war? Lady Gaga's lead single for her now released ARTPOP was the song I heard first before I heard Roar. For being someone who was buzzed for Katy Perry's album, I was disappointed with the result as earlier mentioned (despite all the records Roar broke).
Now to Applause there was a lot of buzz that drew me into the song. Firstly, The Singles Cover, at first I couldn't stop laughing at the singles cover. Like it was so wierd with the whole paint on the face thing and stuff. THEN the song dropped, I got my kick at how desperate Lady Gaga was for releasing it on the same day as Roar, I mean so desperate. THEN she released the video like a week after which was obviously weird to draw buzz in. AND THEN she had the audacity to do the first Itunes online performance! You know that resulted in for me? 2 weeks at #1 and about 12-13 weeks in the top 10. Its an excellent pop song. A-R-T-P-O-P This is also the best song for Lady Gaga lives for. The Applause.
13. Robin Thicke - Blurred Lines
Alright the shade always gets pretty thicke in response to this song (or at least from my personal experience anyway). The production on this song first of all is incredible. I think that is what drew most if not all of us into this song. Lyrically I pretty much ignored his lyrics except maybe the chorus because the song was so catchy. As a gayboy tho, and this song being sort of demoting of women's status, I'm in the middle of this predicament, so I just dance to this song as if I'm the stereotypically "bottom" and Robin, T.I., and Pharrell are the "tops" I guess. Idk the production is pretty much what i loved about the song, its done so well!
12. Ke$ha - Die Young
THE ILLUMINATI lol. This song was a big one from Ke$ha on my chart. I think the reason this song was so big for me was because back in 2011/2012, I despised Flo Rida's Good Feeling but loved Avicii's Levels. Die Young to me is like a better version of Good Feeling and improved production set. This is also another song that peaked in late 2012 and it was able to taste success in 2013 Year End Chart wise. It coasted in the top 10 throughout November 2012 and ended up staying in there till about the beginning of March or April. Either way this song had a great run and its a go to song over the lessor version of the song Good Feeling
11. Will Young - Friday's Child (Original & Andy Cato Remix)
So here we are in 2013 seeing this song in the top 11 again from last year's year end chart. I find this to be extremely funny this has happened! This song Friday's Child is for me all about the production obviously! I mean the song's lyricism is good, but the production is so damn catchy. This year however, I focused mainly on the Andy Cato Remix version of this song. There are many reason for liking this song this over last year, it comes with the usual buzz of the Spring/Summer time it always has (sort of like for me Cheryl Cole's Promise This resurges during the Fall), the album survivor I hosted for Will Young's Greatest Hits, Then all of the other previous Will Young resurgences. All Have contributed to this song doing so well in 2013.
Albums of 2013
1. Beyonce - Beyonce
What makes this my #1 album since I bypassed every release this year for one basically closing out 2013 is how incredible this popstar was and how she made a iconic album! I cannot get enough of the visual album direction she has taken with us, the overall sound of Pop and R&B (and some Hip Hop). I was very thoroughly entertained by this album. This album takes the strong vocals of Ariana's album, the productions of only a Beyonce album has given, and just wow! i like pretty much every song, I love her productions, overall sound, some of the lyrics (I don't want to shade this so I won't), and just at shock finally a mainstream artist took the all the risk and she chose to create a great album. i will probably be listening to this throughout a lot of the beginning of 2014. This is amazing

Singles of 2013
10. Olly Murs - Hey You Beautiful
Another one of my Songs of the Summer doing well on my chart. This song came around May when I was done with Army of Two and wanted another song to listen to. In seeing Olly Murs in concert this year, I was inspired to look through his album to find something I wanted to jam out. I remember hearing this song at his concert and specifically me strongly of the production of last year's #19 year end song Starships by Nicki Minaj. In finding this song, I then started listening to it over and over. Soon enough it climbed to my #1 spot on the 4th of July of all holidays (a #1 song by a british act  ). Now while Hopes & Fears did well during the summer, this song is the one that I saw as the catchier and more obvious song that would remind me of the fun times of my summer of 2013.
9. Luke Bryan - That's My Kind of Night
Luke Bryan did his thang this year! So if y'all didn't know, I'm relatively interested in country music. If y'all don't know either, I'm a Sucker for Country Hip Hop! 1994 went 3 weeks at #1 because it was country hip hop, Luke luckily followed suit. At first I was weirded out by the song and thinking ONLY JASON ALDEAN CAN DO COUNTRY HIP HOP!! Sure enough changed my tune, got really into it, and it spent 13 weeks in my top 5 til the very end of the chart year! The song did much better because of his other singles that did well this year, but this was the King of all of them. He got my attention/exposure and now I'm listening to him maybe up there with Will Young at times.
8. Selena Gomez - Come & Get It
This song is so generic and so autotuned, but I absolutely love it! There are times when I am hooked to certain songs for their generic pop vibe and their underlying sexual message. With this combination, we get the #_ song of 2013. I mean musically, this song isn't anything groundbreaking tbh, I liked the song for all the messy things about it (the autotune, the song being about "COME GET ME NOW!!!!!!!!!", the indian drums, the fact its Selena Gomez out of all people doing this song (that is just lol worthy), and the chorus being so sexually obvious. This song is so great! Also I would totally make this my drag queen song. On another subject, I just always look at the singles cover and think its her reaction to an urge for something sexual tbh.
7. Will Young - Hearts On Fire
This song is the Highest Album Cut to place on my chart! This song for me came in mid February when I was looking for a different song to listen to from Will Young beyond "Believe" and "Grace". I ended up re-listening to Echoes, and decided "Hearts On Fire" was a song that intrigued me enough to listen to. I then continuously began to listen to the song over and over and over. Despite peaking only at #2, it's top 20 dominance lasted from Early March to Late July I think what drew me into this song was, besides the obvious creepy vibe you get from this album, was the simple production, my typical young person's relation to the lyrics (feeling confused about lots of things in my life in 2013), and Will's sooth singing is pleasant to listen to repeatedly.
6. Capital Cities - Safe and Sound
WOOOO. I never expected this song to be this high in the end. This was an amazing song back when I first heard it on the radio as I listen to it as I write this entry. The chart success of this song was not in where it peaked (as it only hit #3), it was in its chart longevity (much like how the song landed in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 by its Radio Success). Well the reason for such long sustained success is that Its such an energy infused song!!!! Let's not even joke. I mean the electro rave feel of the song (it just complements your ears so well) and then the trumpet hooks, and the good feelings of being Safe and Sound! Congrats to the newest edition to my top 40 chart. Also this song makes me think about the single cover for Selena Gomez's "Come & Get It" because of that whole YOLO mindset lol
