That's what happens when a race's consciousness grows and they come to realize the society they live in hasn't and doesn't treat them fairly. Ya'll expected us to stay SLEEP for another 200 years huh?
they don't want us sitting at the front of the bus
Outside of celebrities singing it, the National Anthem is blah.
But for the people saying "It's cult-like." It's just appreciation for your country. Just like schools have their own alma maters and mission statements. It's not that serious. We cut out the other stanzas for a reason.

the whole pledge of allegiance thing always felt particularly strange to me.
like, it's a pledge. it's something you only have to give one time.
i mean, just look at this:
doesn't this look kind of odd when you think about it? placing a hand over your heart and reciting something that you only loosely comprehend at the time you're introduced to it...
i feel like people in the future will look back at this period in human history and mock stuff like that
I think we as black people are humans with the capability to address multiple issues at a time.
THANK YOU
And nnn, at people saying 'but nobody sings that verse' POINT BLANK, that's not the point. It is still there. It is still part of the National Anthem. Yikes, they better officially remove it or launch a new one.
But why has it not been officially removed yet especially since people don't even sing it anymore
Because the majority of the American citizens don't even know the damn song. They barely stumble through the first verse and damn sure don't know the 2nd and 3rd verses. Why have ALL that mess as the NA when no one actually knows it?

It looks straight out of a 20th century "America the Brave, Defend our Country, Join the Military" propaganda ad. The level of patriotism is worrying, if you replaced the American flag in this image with a religious flag and some holy books it would be called a cult.
Times are changing and old white people who'll be gone sooner than later anyway need to deal with it. And the younger ones who want to subscribe to their crappy values need to deal with it as well or stay left behind.

that photo is so... I have no words...
the brainwashing of young kids to worship a flag instead of teaching them important things in life
