And it keeps going round and round and round...
The FreeWave is, once again, here to give you guys a glimpse of just what good music really is. On this week's Current, a *little* less crazy movement this week, but there's another debut that could shake up the countdown as well as the usual suspects trying to take Muse out of #1. There's also a brand new #1 on the Others, as well as three other songs by the same artist. If you don't know who it is by now, well...just look below and find out!

30 Seconds To Mars - From Yesterday
Audioslave - Revelations
Depeche Mode - Martyr
Lupe Fiasco - I Gotcha
Thom Yorke - Harrowdown Hill

DEBUT
[6] Deftones - Hole In The Earth
Eight Weeks | Peak: #3 | Low: #7 | +1
[5] Army Of Anyone - Goodbye
Ten Weeks | Peak: #2 | Low: #10 | +1
Debut: 8/14/06(#10)
Retirement: 10/16/06(#5)
Lowest Point: #10(8/14/06)
Highest Point: #2(9/11-9/18/06)
Most Repeated: #4(Three Times)
Points: 65
Notes: This song came along at the exact right time for multiple reasons, the most notable being something that i'm still reeling over and it's been two months since it happened. I'm not really at will to discuss what actually happened, at least not here, but all i'm going to say is that this song came along just as that was going on and it describes how I have been feeling for two months. It may not have had the success it did without my personal life getting in the way, but it's still a damn good song either way and i'm sure that, when I look back, i'll be happy that this song retired.
[4] TV On The Radio - Wolf Like Me

[4] Evanescence - Lacrymosa
[3] Depeche Mode - Precious
[2] Muse - Knights Of Cydonia(Two Weeks At #1)
[1] Deftones - Cherry Waves(One Week At #1)
A big thank you to MC Steven, Johnny, JC and Roger for hitting me up with your comments/recommendations/etc. By the way, Roger, "Doctor Blind" was #16 on the Current. It missed by *that* much. No retirements next week on the Current, but i'm sure there'll be some more chocolaty goodness for all as Muse tries to hold onto #1. Until then, POW.

Oh no, not another FreeWave!
...yes, another one.
On this week's edition, Muse, Mastodon and Beck continue their battle for #1 on the Current and Evanescence makes a push towards the top. The Others is, of course, crazy. But all of you knew that. Lets get right to it...

Yep, another edition of the FreeWave...finally. This week's Current sees Beck and Deftones retire. Can Muse hold on under these conditions? Plus, there's a brand new #1 on the Others! Just look below and check it all out...

(+44) - When Your Heart Stops Beating

[9] Gnarls Barkley - Gone Daddy Gone
Seven Weeks | Peak: #5 | Low: #10 | =
[8] Chris Cornell - You Know My Name
Five Weeks | Peak: #3 | Low: #8 | -1
[7] 30 Seconds To Mars - From Yesterday

Three Weeks | Peak: #4 | Low: #7 | -2
[5] Deftones - Hole In The Earth
Ten Weeks | Peak: #3 | Low: #7 | =
Debut: 8/28/06(#4)
Retirement: 10/30/06(#5)
Lowest Point: #7(10/9/06)
Highest Point: #3(9/4-9/11/06, 9/25/06)
Most Repeated: I'll get back to you
Points: 66
Notes: The first single from the Deftones was also a damn good one. It faced way too much competition to get to the #1 spot, especiall near the end when "Nausea" and "Starlight" would dominate the top 2. However, it still held its own and is a very deserving retiree.
[4] TV On The Radio - Wolf Like Me
Seven Weeks | Peak: #2 | Low: #6 | +2
[3] Mastodon - The Wolf Is Loose
Six Weeks | Peak: #2 | Low: #10 | -1
[2] Beck - Nausea
Ten Weeks | Peak: #1(Four Weeks) | Low: #3 | +1
Debut: 8/28/06(#2)
Retirement: 10/30/06(#2)
Lowest Point: #3(10/16-10/23/06)
Highest Point: #1(9/11-10/2/06)
Most Repeated: #2(8/28-9/4/06, 10/9/06, 10/30/06), #1(see above)
Points: 92
Notes: One of the best performing and most dominating songs in the history of any of my countdowns. It faced practically no competion during its four week run at #1 and the only reason it didn't finish out its run at the top is because this little band named Muse got in the way. A shoo-in for my year-end top ten.
[1] Muse - Starlight
Four Weeks | Peak: #1(Four Weeks) | =
The FreeWave: Others
[10] Atreyu - Ex's And Oh's
[9] Public Enemy - Fight The Power
[8] Lynyrd Skynard - Freebird
[7] Queen - Killer Queen
[6] Motorhead - Ace Of Spades(Six Weeks At #1)
[5] Mastodon - Sleeping Giant
[4] Lupe Fiasco - The Cool
[3] 30 Seconds To Mars - Battle Of One
[2] Deftones - Cherry Waves(Two Weeks At #1)
[1] ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man(One Week At #1)
A big thanks to Blowjob...I mean, Blanket Jackson, Chuck and the block rockin' beats man, MC Steven, for commenting and what have you. Next week, no retirements...but a lot of fun? Well, Nas will almost certainly debut next week with, in my opinion, the rap song of the year. Until then, this countdown has been paid for by Mr. FreeWave.

Awesome to see "Starlight" still #1. Truly deserving
I'm also enjoying the TV on the Radio, Evanescence, 30STM, Depeche, and Audioslave love.
Hmm.. recommendations..
Razorlight - America
THE KOOKS - OOH LA <<< a must have
Kasabian - Shoot The Runner
but the one song I KNOW you will like:
kOs - Sunday Morning
honestly, that one better debut next week.

A big thanks goes out to Roger, Block Rockin' Beats Man, Johnald and the MB Master for hitting me up with their comments and stuff. Roger, i'm fairly certain i've heard "America" and I wasn't that impressed by it, maybe i'll check it out again. MB Master, it's so funny, but I have been less than enthralled by the Chili Peppers singles from Stadium Arcadium, they could pick so much better. As for "Meds", it's okay, but not quite good enough to make the Current as of yet. I'll try to check out the rest of the recommendations as soon as possible.
Next week, Muse tries to hold onto #1 with the competition never being this hot for the trio. Until then, vote for Mr. FreeWave this Tuesday at election day. Hey, I can't be any worse than the guys elected into office, right? *thumbs up*
