"The media" is an exceptionally broad term though. CNN aren't going to interrupt their coverage of the Ferguson riots to go "we interrupt this bulletin with breaking news: Lady Gaga has released Onion Girl on her ARTPOP app."

But when Gossip Sites like HollywoodLife and DailyMail "report" on a Big Brother or X-Factor reject from 3 years ago uploading a selfie on instagram, then yeah, I do think they'd write up a post on their sites about Gaga releasing a new song. And you'd be amazed at how much traffic those articles get. People love to read about celebrities.

And I could be wrong on this, but I honestly think releasing 'Cake' was one of the worst career decisions she's ever made. I remember people thinking "she can NOT be serious right now...is this a joke?" And little monsters all over twitter going "guys!!! It's a joke song guys! She held a competition for fans to write the lyrics and the winner won the song lyrics and she performed it for them! It's a joke! She's making fun of rappers!" That didn't get widespread media coverage but it didn't stop my friends from going "did you hear that new Lady Gaga song? So ****ing bad..." They'd still heard about it and listened to it, and it started to change their (previously really high) opinions of her.

lbr the only people who truly "deserve it" are the people who still have the app downloaded onto their phone after all this time..i mean, if you really expected something major after almost a year and all these delayed countdowns, well, then...

Hahahaha, jeeeeeeeze. Her ARTPOP didn't mean anything, not anything she wanted originally anyways.
Questionably intentional leaks, rush-releases, second single swap-outs, music video delays and shelvings (and more leaks), a mega-video release for a 3rd single that thud-ed on the charts, and an eternally reset countdown for an app that she doesn't even wanna talk about anymore.
This era had such potential :/
The music was actually pretty great, but the whole thing was executed with such a scatterbrained... aura, I guess you could call it.

But the album didn't have to flop, if might have underperformed but she could have kept a strong promo schedule, released proper videos (or at least one for DWUW) and worked on it.

She could have fulfilled her claim by releasing songs on the app or ANYTHING.

Instead she didn't and LOTS of people are turning their backs on her, heck I'm only on board because I'm seeing her in a month.


She can't come back strong if people are angry at her....

The ARTPOP Era has been over since GUY flopped, so for fans to think the app was going to be randomly used during the Cheek To Cheek Era is delusion at its finest. She hasn't said anything about the app in several months, yet fans still held on to the false hope that something would happen. Common sense told us a long, long time ago that the app is dead and was not going to be resurrected. The meltdowns are due to your own expectations.

Some of you are acting like insolent children who were just told they can't play outside with their friends. Is this how you react in real life when you don't get your way? Sometimes plans fall apart and people have to move on. I suggest you do the same. You all cry and whine about how "****" ARTPOP is and then get mad that you're not getting more songs from the album? You all have done nothing but make fun of her weight, call her a flop, attack her for not performing better, and various things of the like, and yet you still expect her to cater to you? Hypocrites. The lot of ya.

The app wasn't going to have anything too exciting other than the new songs, which we can get anyway if she wants to give them to us.

We all know all of her ideas and plans for the ARTPOP era were all ruined long time ago with the management issues. We saw that coming.
