But out of those two, Team Collin, actually. Though at times it seems more like Collin's the guy Jenna would cheat on Matty with (or who would cause her to dump Matty) during freshman year of college, after they agree to try the long-distance thing.

I'm sure they just picked the most dramatic parts from each episode, like I was watching a recorded episode from a while back today and at the end it had a sneak peak at next weeks episode and it tried to make it all dramatic like Matty and Jenna were going to break up but then I watched the episode and it had nothing to do with Matty and Jennas relationship really and they were just fine in the episode

My heart broke when I saw the midseason finale. I really like Matty and I hope the next midseason doesn't become too melodramatic or depressing. But I doubt that will happen. I mean, it's a comedy, for God's sake.

It's still season 3. Since they were given 20 episodes this season, they split it up in half. 10 now and 10 in the Fall. Kinda dumb, but whatever makes them money I guess.

Awkward Creator Abruptly Quits as Season 4 Hangs in Balance

Well, isn’t this… Awkward.

Lauren Iungerich, the creator and showrunner of MTV’s acclaimed drama series, is leaving the show at the end of Season 3, TVLine has confirmed.

“Awkward is a wonderful series and we appreciate the creativity and devotion Lauren brought to this show,” MTV Programming President Susanne Daniels said in a statement. “We wish her the best in her new ventures.”

According to our sister site Deadline, Iungerich is exiting for personal and professional reasons.

Awkward returns with the second half of Season 3 in October. MTV, meanwhile, is on the hunt for a new showrunner to oversee a potential Season 4.

I'm sure MTV wasn't happy with the way this season is heading creatively... cause the second half of this season is going to be :/

I wonder what will happen to the show now. MTV will most likely keep it and continue to push out episodes until viewers hit an all time low, since the show has already peaked.

Season 3 has been kinda cringe-worthy on Jenna's part and the guidance counselor hasn't been in that many episodes either.
