TOP 102 SONGS
Here I will present my 100102 Top songs. I mostly included singles (but added a few album songs here and there). I never realize how much music I listened to in 2012.
| 102. Had Me @ Hello
Artist: Olivia Holt
Peak Position: N/A
Album : Make Your Mark: Ultimate Playlist
I just love how kiddish and bubbly this song sounds. The video-game-ish beat in the beginning and the "ho-ho-ho" chorus is flawless.
|
|
101. Go
Artist: The McClain Sisters
Peak Position: N/A
Album : N/A
I love China McClain and think her solo songs slayed. So when I heard she was going to be in a group with her sisters. I was like. GURL BYE. This group will flop harder than Raven and Joe Jonas. But this song is a solid pop song! The lyrics are very teeny-bopperish but the sound and everything is Top 40. I could totally see this smashing if they weren't on Disney.
|
| 100. How We Do (Party)
Artist: Rita Ora
Peak Position: #62
Album: O.R.A.
Apparently Rita Ora was considered one of the up coming pop girls. Uh...Yeah, the song is average. But it's pretty good and I love it when she sings "Oooooooooh" It's so cute. And what a way to start the countdown than with Rita Ora? We're goin' party!
|
| 99. The Same Heart
Artist: Zendaya & Bella Throne
Peak Position: N/A
Album: Shake It Up: Made In Japan
The first Disney song makes it entry! and its by Zendaya and Bella. I like the mellow-y vibe this song has. It's somewhat similar to Selena Gomez's "A Year Without Rain". The only part I dislike is Bella's annoying rap.
|
|
98. Give Me All Your Luvin'
Artist: Madonna
Peak Position: #10
Album : MDNA
IMadonna makes her first entry! Although this song is very basic and doesn't compared to her past material. I still jam out to it. It grew on me after a couple of listens and I really love chorus (L-U-V Madonna!). I still feel like Nicki's and M.i.a's parts were waaaaaay too short. 30 seconds? Madonna, girl.
|
|
97. Dark Side
Artist: Kelly Clarkson
Peak Position: #42
Album : Stronger
Ew, Kelly Clarkson. I was one of Kelly's biggest fans but she completely lost with the 'Stronger' era. Especially with "Stronger" But there a few gems on the album and 'Dark Side' is one of them. I enjoyed the lyrics and thinks its one of her best singles. It's a shame it didn't become a huge hit.
|
|
96. Dance Again
Artist: Jennifer Lopez/Pitbull
Peak Position: #17
Album : Dance Again... the Hits
In my opinion, I don't think you could repeat the same formula twice. And that was obviously Jenny's idea from the get go. And luckily, it flopped (compared to On The Floor) This isn't her best song, but its cute. And I really like the chorus and the latin vibe to it.
|
|
95. Just A Fool
Artist: Christina Aguilera
Peak Position: #71
Album : Lotus
When I heard Christina was going to collab with Blake. I was like girl, A reciept for a daister tbh. But this song isn't half-bad. I only love it mainly because of Blake.
|
|
94. C'mon
Artist: Ke$ha
Peak Position: #70
Album : Warrior
Ke$ha completely slayed me with this song. I LOVE IT! She really a has knacks for the rhymes.
|
|
93. Locked Out Of Heaven
Artist: Bruno Mars
Peak Position: #1
Album : Unorthodox Jukebox
Ew, I hate Bruno Mars. I don't know what I hate about him more: his cocky swagger or his height. Probably the latter. Anyways, I love a few of his songs and 'Heaven' is one of them. My only complaint is the 'sex' part. It just made the song sleazier (the cover art is classy tho )
|
|
92. The Boys
Artist: Nicki Minaj/Cassie
Peak Position: #114
Album : Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded: The Re-Up
Hmm, I'm not a huge fan of this song. It sounds very cheap and dated. But I love the music video and Cassie slays me with her part! The highlight of this part is actually when Nicki says "Do you really luv meh Stebay?!"
|
|
91. Beauty And The Beat
Artist: Justin Bieber/Nicki Minaj
Peak Position: #7
Album : Believe
My babbeh Bieber makes his first entry! And with its my favorite female rapper Nicki! This one of my favorite songs from "Believe" I love the dance vibe to it and Nicki sounds good. I love her rap "Buns out, wiener/But I gotta keep an eye out for Selener." Selena's impact.
|
|
90. Miss Out
Artist: Blush
Peak Position: N/A
Album : N/A
I actually heard of Blush in 2010. It was on a pop blog and they just made their first appearance on US TV on "So You Think You Can Dance" with a lame urban-pop song with Snoop Dogg. I never pay attention to them until recently when I was looking on iTunes for some new music. Their song was on the recommandations and I decide it preview it. I thought it was pretty basic at first, but I thought why not buy it? I love flop music. And it actually slayed me. It's actually a pretty solid pop song. I think with re-written lyrics and a more polish production, it could be a huge hit. Definitely one of my favorites.

TOP 102 SONGS
I'm counting the countdown. And here I will reveal #89 to #70. These range from Pop to R&B to Country. This is probably the most random set. Anyways, here we go! Woo!
| 89. Oath
Artist: Cher Lloyd
Peak Position: #99
Album : Stick & Stones
Ugh, this song is so catchy and takes me back to '07 when Avril was dominating the charts with her catchiest single "Girlfriend" I just love this song. It makes me feel like I'm in spring and automatically puts me in a good mood. I still think they release this song at the wrong time. It sounds awkward listening to it when it's freakin' cold.
|
|
88. Starships
Artist: Nicki Minaj
Peak Position: #5
Album : Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded
The song that tainted Nicki's career. I really believe this song damage Nicki's career (Moreso than 'Stupid Hoe') It may have been very successful, but it completely turn people off from her and it made her a joke. I remember people calling her the female version of Flo-Rida. Although, it's trashy and the lyrics are bad (Now everybody let me hear you say ray ray ray ) I love it. It's a good twerkin' song.
|
| 87. Gangnam Style
Artist: PSY
Peak Position: #2
Album: PSY 6 (Six Rules), Part 1
When I first heard people actually loving this song. I was like EW! It's a completely rip-off of LMAO "Party Rock Anthem" and "I'm Sexy and I Know It" Now, after hearing it over and over. It's actually a really catchy jam and I love the dance! Iconic song tbh.
|
| 86. Lemonade
Artist: Alexandra Stan
Peak Position: N/A
Album: Saxobeats II
Alexandra surprise me with this one! Although it's not as catchy or good as her previous song. It's cute and it makes you feel happy and relaxing inside.
|
|
85. Heart Skips A Beat
Artist: Olly Murs
Peak Position: #96
Album : In Case You Didn't Know
I'm not Olly Murs biggest fan. And he looks like Perez Hilton. I was browsing through his videos on Youtube one day because I wanted to hear his new song "Troublemaker" (this was before I dislike him) and I came across 'Heart Skips A Beat' and the title caught my attention and I actually like it. It's a fun and summer-ish song. I still don't like him btw.
|
|
84. Last Night
Artist: Paris Hilton / Lil Wayne
Peak Position: N/A
Album : N/A
When Paris preview the song this summer at a club. I was really excited! I didn't know think she would pull through with music (all talk ) but then when I heard it. I was like yassss! but news broke when her and Afrojack weren't Bff's anymore. My heart broke. and then Pitbull and that wannabe Havana stole the track and put it on his crappy album. How dare they! Paris version >>>>>>>> everything tbh.
|
|
83. Primadonna
Artist: Marina & The Diamonds
Peak Position: N/A
Album : Electraheart
I actually detested Marina's voice. It turned me off and the song sounded like a wannabe-Katy-Perry-song. But one day, the chorus was stuck in my head and I pretend to be Marina in the music video and twirl around in the living room and singing "I'm a primadonna girl, All I ever want is the world" and from there, I love the song.
|
|
82. All Stars
Artist: Blush
Peak Position: N/A
Album : N/A
Even though this song is pedstrian with its generic structure, banal lyrics and blah voice. I like it. It's cute.
|
|
81. Ice
Artist: Kelly Rowland / Lil Wayne
Peak Position: #88
Album : Year of The Woman
So apparently I see Kelly Rowland basically doing the same thing J.Lo did with her new single. Use the same formula. Tbh, I hate how R&B girls have to rely on Lil Wayne to get played on radio. I wish they could stop using him and just have their own song to themselves. This song is actually pretty good. I didn't like it at first, it was too boring and it sounded off. But when I watched the music video and saw Kelly twerkin'. I couldn't stop slaying and singin' "hot, hot, hot," after that.
|
|
80. Scream
Artist: Usher
Peak Position: #9
Album : Looking 4 Myself
I'm not huge fan of Usher. When I first heard this song was basically a generic dance pop song. I'm like no thanks. It wasn't until I heard the song on a commercial for the X-Box 360 Dance Central, that I loved it. It's catchy as heck, and I can't stop dancing to it with my Cheryl-equse dance moves.
|
|
79. Trust and Believe
Artist: Keyshia Cole
Peak Position: #32 (Urban)
Album : Woman to Woman
I love me some Keyshia! I've been a huge fan of hers since "A Different Me." and I couldn't wait for more music. Although, this song isn't anything special (she could do better) It's a pretty good R&B song. I just hope she pushes herself next time with her music.
|
|
78. Right By My Side
Artist: Nicki Minaj/Chris Brown
Peak Position: #51
Album : Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded
When I first heard this song I was surprised. I wasn't exactly expecting a mellow Urban-pop song. I was expecting Nicki with her fire-y rhymes with gritty beats. But alas, dis song is my jam! It's like "Right Thru Me" and "Moment 4 Life" had a baby.
|
|
77. Keep It Between Us
Artist: Kelly Rowland
Peak Position: N/A
Album : Here I Am
Probably one of the best tracks on Kelly Rowland's 2011 release "Here I Am". When the snippets came out; this was one of my favorites. I love the mellow vibe that had with it. I'm happy Kelly made a music video for it. I just wish she release it as a single. It wouldn't do damage on the charts, but probably would've been a decent Top 20 R&B hit.
|
|
76. As Long As You Love Me
Artist: Justin Bieber
Peak Position: #6
Album : Believe
Why is this song so low despite how good it is? I admit, this is probably one of Bieber's best songs. But it didn't really catchy my attention as much. I still listen to it sometimes and its cute.
|
|
75. Run Daddy Run
Artist: Pistol Annies/Miranda Lambert
Peak Position: N/A
Album :The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond
I love the dark vibe this song brings. Miranda and Pistol Annies go well together and its a really good country song.
|
| 74. Didn't Wana Do It
Artist: Julia Volkova
Peak Position: N/A
Album : N/A
If you don't recognize this beautiful plastic queen, She's Julia from pop group T.a.t.u. I'm actually surprised this was her. She looks different in the music video. Anyways, I love her new look and I love my plastic queens. This song is catchy, trashy and perfect to dance to when you're drunk and out of your mind. The lyrics are best thing tbh. "Didn't wanna do it!"
|
| 73. Say Somethin'
Artist: Austin Mahone
Peak Position: #34 (Pop)
Album : N/A
Cutest song ever! Say somethin'! Cause you're all in my head like Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
|
|
72. Bad Boys
Artist: Victoria Justice
Peak Position: N/A
Album : Victorious 3.0
I wasn't aware that Victorious had a new soundtrack out. I bought it on Amazon and this was one of the few songs I love. Normally, I'm huge fan of the show singles since they're basic. But this song is a step up from the previous soundtrack. "You're baaad boy, and I'm a good girl..."
|
|
71. Put Your Graffifi On Me
Artist: Kat Graham
Peak Position: #5 (Dance)
Album: Against The Wall
It didn't catch my attention, but after a couple of plays. It became my favorite. The best part of the song is "TAG MEH~"
|
|
70. 212
Artist: Azealia Banks / Lazy Kay
Peak Position: #12 (UK)
Album : 1991
I didn't particurly care for Azealia Banks. I never listen to her music or pay attention to her. Until one day, I gave this song a spin. I didn't expect this rap-dance song? I assume this was one of your usual gritty rap song about money. But it wasn't at all, I love it.
