The Academy always pulls little stunts like that. It's funny because they know Katy has not a chance in hell at winning AOTY. They are trying to make it easy for Eminem to win. It was the same reason they put Ne-Yo in AOTY two years ago. Katy was probably not even in the top 5 votes. The members are a bunch of shady bastards.
Right? I love how they chose to double up on POP - not country (although Miranda Lambert would have been SO MUCH MORE deserving) or indie (ditto Black Keys) or hip-hop (Jay-Z, natch).
Honestly, I can say that I was just as shocked as most of the people when they discovered that Teenage Dream was nominated. I mean, Solider of Love obviously should have been nominated instead.
But we all know Katy isn't going to win, regardless of how good some songs (especially singles) on the albums might be.
I should be outraged, but then I remember this is the grammys....
They just lost 500000000000000000000000000 points for this years nominations

Justin bieber also got nominated? i mean seriously....
Justin Bieber was an obviously nomination, and to be honest he deserves to be nominated for 'Best New Artist.' I don't like him, but I mean.....the boy is huge. He is no different than Britney Spears when she was 16. Cheesy pop music that all the tweens eat up...and she too was nominated for Best New Artist.
But I am still shocked at some of the choices this year.
