Bey is about 10x times more acclaimed. Not even exaggerating.
Generally speaking Crazy in Love is more acclaimed than Taylor's entire discography. Even if Beyonce ended her career after Crazy in Love, she would still be considered more acclaimed. I think that speaks volumes.
Not to mention that Bey has several albums that are more acclaimed than any Taylor album.
Several more songs more acclaimed than any Taylor songs... the list just goes on and on. This is not a fair competition. They are not in the same league at all. Let's not even bring Beyonce's acclaim as a performer. Something Taylor can't even dream of.
Though, without even reading, I'm sure this thread is filled with Taylor bots who have "2x AOTY winner" on repeat.
I am NOT trying to discredit Taylor's AOTY and have said many times that her winning it twice was an impressive achievement. And I didn't say anything about Bey losing AOTY to Beck since I KNEW damn well that this would happen so miss me with that ********
The thing that you fail to understand is that an AOTY doesn't only take acclaim into account, otherwise Frank, Bey and Kendrick all would have won the year they were nominated. In fact, Frank's heavily acclaimed album lost to a critically panned one, what does that tell you about all of this ? Another example would be Celine Dion or Whitney Houston who won with albums that received mixed reviews while Prince and Madonna lost with acclaimed records (Purple Rain and Ray Of Light). Having an AOTY (or two) doesn't necessarily mean that you're the most acclaimed. What was taken into account and allowed Taylor to win last year was also the massive commercial success of her album and her overall media presence, otherwise we all know who would have won. When it comes to actual critical acclaim receipt nowadays, Beyoncé is clearly above Taylor when it comes to ST and Lemonade. Sure, things were different until 2013 but Bey reached new highs since then
Your argument is seriously in vain. For some reason members here don't understand it. Grammys are in no shape or form got anything to do with acclaim. They are and have always been about recognition. That's the key word. Industry recognition.
Beyonce. More acclaimed singer, dancer, more acclaimed albums, more acclaimed tours, more acclaimed personality, life, etc.
Taylor campaigned for her AOTY, won them for selling a lot of albums and releasing safe music, over artist whose albums have been far more revered by the public and critics alike. Once in a blue moon, someone will rightfully win AOTY. Taylor has never been one of those wins.
BEYONCE is more acclaimed than anything Taylor has done
Lemonade is more acclaimed than anything Taylor has done
Crazy In Love is more acclaimed than anything Taylor has done.
Beyonce's performing skills are more acclaimed than anything about Taylor.
She is acclaimed, but only mildly acclaimed. Less acclaimed than Rihanna, Britney, Gaga, Madonna, Adele, Beyonce etc.
She's slightly more acclaimed than Katy & Kesha though, so at least something.
