I don't know about it being "her decade", it's a silly notion to be honest. But her work throughout was obviously the most creative and culturally important of any pop artist.

Erotica displayed the complete freedom of a woman through her art. Never has an american mainstream artist done that before her. Once she did that she consecutively made any other pop girls "controversial / over the top sexyness" seem like a holy experience. Meaning she diminished the effect of **** shaming in the music industry.
