That doesn't matter. The person didn't die from marijuana, they died because they crashed, whether or not marijuana had something to do with the CRASH is irrelevant.

No. I realize weed has proven to be basically harmless and I don't vouch for the whole "gateway" drug ********. But if people actually sat down and thought about it seriously, legalizing marijuana isn't going to benefit society. Yes, it will spare American tax dollars on incarcerations, but legalizing weed is not "progresive" or whatever nonsense the extreme left is spouting. It's just going to get into the hands of more kids who have no business getting high, causing more violence, and the thought of a bunch of people walking around completely blazed is just ugly.
But then again, if weed is legalized the value and demand my drop overtime. Who knows.

So if someone drinks alcohol and gets drunk and crashes it becomes irrelevant?

They might have died after smoking marijuana. They made the stupid decision to go driving under the influence of illegal drugs.

Driving high and driving drunk are two completely different things... I'm actually a better driver after smoking to be honest. not sure if thats good or bad...

How is that irrelevant? If someone gets into a fatal accident while drunk/high/whatever, how can you possibly say the substance in their body had absolutely nothing to do with the crash?

Ok outside the gateway drug argument, you can't deny the fact that Marijuana has effects on the mind. Alcohol will only have effects on the mind if you use to much of it but Marijuana will have the effect with the first use. Not supporting alcohol just putting a point out here.

It's irrelevant because the thing that killed them was the CRASH NOT the drug (if that statistic includes things like that, which doesn't tell). That's why it's irrelevant. They didn't die from alcohol, drugs, whatever, they died from a stupid decision to drive while under the influence

Actually weed helps you concentrate better, so this education thing is flawed too

Right but not all people react to substances the same. So it's definitely relevant to an accident where physical time reaction is important.

Find me scientific proof that it helps you concentrate better. Also your argument from before, since you're saying the crash killed the person then we can say when someone drink and drives the crash kills the person. The drunk person made the decision to drive but its not alcohol that kills him/her its the crash.
Of course the crash killed them but WHAT LED TO IT?

I feel like you're missing the point completely.
For all practical purposes, If marijuana is putting somebody at a higher risk for a car crash, it IS relevant to the issue.

It's called a secondary cause of death. The crash killed them, but the substance impaired their driving and cause the crash.
