That's just my very rough estimate. I know for a fact that at least 3,000 are in the dark in my hometown and surrounding area (Augusta and the CSRA). When you factor in Metro Atlanta and North GA there's bound to be way more than that.
Earth is so ****ed up. North America having those ice storms and meanwhile South America has the hottest summer ever registered.
It's called Winter and different hemispheres... It's WEATHER, nothing else. That's like saying, "Earth is so ****ed up. Australia is warm, while the North Pole is freezing!".

So this is normal for North America every Winter? It was not what I read about a month ago about a cold wave. I can say that South America always has hot Summers but the current one has temperatures about 7º-10ºC higher than average. This is not a usual Summer and by reading the thread I assumed this was not a usual Winter in North America either.

Winter in GA isn't like this though. It's snows once every 4 or 5 years, but we've gotten snow twice in the last 2 weeks. It's not normal. Even the storms and temperatures the North and Midwest are enduring are unheard of.

It's not. That's why the South isn't prepared for it, because they aren't used to it and therefore not equipped to handle it.
