Rihanna tells MTV News, "He is such a genius. When I'm in the studio, he'll tell me how to breathe and stuff. "He'll call out these big fancy words: 'OK, I want you to do staccato.' And I'm like, 'OK, I don't know what that is.
Yeah, Beyonce is very inspired by this musically ignorant girl.

After all this fighting, I should say that I don't think Rihanna takes too many influences from Beyonce anymore. She is a superstar in her own right and has her own style. Also Beyonce's style is very unique and hard to pull off, so why would she try it? You might think that Partition and Drunk in Love are Rihanna-esque because they use more new styles of R&B, but they still employ the hallmark Beyonce elements, that fast-sung rap, that swag that Rihanna only started adopting in like 2012, etc.
Yes
fast-sung: No No No (1997), 1st DC single. Even Kelly Rowland said they were the 1st to bring it.
swag: Upgrade U slayage. no girl had sung with that kind of style (swag) before Beyoncé.
That's why Talk that Talk is my fav Rihanna album. It shows a lot of the B singing/rapping signatures.
I think, while still being involved in the making of their music, they are not that much in control of their music direction.
If you see any similarity, it's probably just their team thinking it was a good element to be include, and not because one is inspired by another to do something

Every producer involved in Beyoncé's album has talked about how involved and central she is to her work.
Meanwhile, Rihanna compares making music to 'shoe-shopping' and her albums are created though a colelction of demos being sent to her managers before they're sent to her to pick from.
Beyoncé is entirely in control of her musical direction. Rihanna isn't.
To be honest, I feel like "Beyonce" was an effort to prove that what Rihanna can do, Beyonce can do better. THIS is JUST my opinion. I have my thoughts and theories on Beyonce and Rihanna but I think that Beyonce was showing Rihanna that she can do any type of genre, even the one Rihanna is best known for, and doesn't just need to stick to the safe territory. So I think at least as of recent Beyonce was a bit inspired by Rihanna.
You mean this outdated quote back from 2007/2006? Both Bey and Rih have grown since then, both polishing their techniques. This proves nothing.
And just cuz one came after the other doesn't mean the newcomer can't inspire and teach. That's closed minded.
Girl, she still sings flat as ever and she still uses a vocal producer (Kuk Harrel). How you gon' be in the industry ten damn years and have to have someone in the studio to tell you how to sing a song? Beyonce is not inspired by that useless girl.
Clearly Beyonce inspired Rihanna. Rihanna never really brought anything new to the table. Even Rihanna's island flare was something Bey had already explored in 2003.
