Two truths that are completely different, something you conveniently leave out.
Someone being trans isn't inherently harmful. Having AIDS and not telling your partner, putting them at risk of infection, is.

Eww, definitely leave.
I'm attracted to both sexes but I would never date a transsexual person. Not here for that.

But why is not disclosing the fact you were trans a secret that is harmful? Not disclosing your STD status is harmful. Not disclosing your marital status is harmful. But because someone you are in a relationship with, a relationship that was going on fine!, ends up being trans and it's a groundbreaking, relationship altering thing?
|
The person you want to have a relationship with has a right to know! And you don't need to wait until he/she asks!
Like I said for the millionth time, trust issues come into play.

Comparing them because its "concealing the truth" is as valid a comparison as comparing "possession" and "murder" because "they're both crimes!"

Did I say the first day? I said before you decide to have sex.

Ok, say you are a bisexual man. You are dating a gay man. Your relationship goes along fine, until one day your boyfriend finds out you are bisexual. He lashes out at you shouting, "why did you lie to me!", "why did you never tell me you were bisexual! You deceived me!", "I don't want to date someone who could have had sex with women!" etc.
Do you not see a problem here? According to you, you were at fault here, because you never told him you were bisexual. You were a LIAR.

Actually please don't. My opinion is not changing, lol. More than a few people here think it's wrong to conceal your original sex. And it is. If the person leaves you, oh well. That person has all the right to.

Well most people probably won't sue someone for deceiving them of their real sexuality. The thing is people wasted time and resources on something that wasn't achievable to begin with. The fact that the situation could've been avoided by a simple truth makes the person liable to what will transpire next. Good or bad.

It has the potential to cause trust issues. It also has the potential to emotionally hurt someone.
All that is irrelevant, because the analogy was completely warped by three people rather ridiculously.

Are you still on this "having a biological child" trip?
Its seriously not as huge of a deal to most people as you want to think it is

It wasn't warped, it was a bad analogy. You're a damn professional at blaming the wrong people

No one said that person didn't have the right to. You can dump a person if they don't like your favorite color if you're so inclined.

Who is at fault?
Are you that DENSE to believe that the bi man is at fault? That the bi man should have brought it up at some point? It is the gay man's irrational preference to not date bisexual men. If having sex with a bisexual man was such a huge issue, he should make it clear.
I don't understand what's so difficult to comprehend here. Are you allowed to dump the trans person? Yes. Would it make you an asshole? Possibly. Should you get angry at them? No. Did they lie to you? No.

This argument
You ALL need to accept that some people just won't want to date a trans person. Is that a preference rooted in bigotry? Probably. Oh well. There's nothing you can do to change the mind of someone this rooted in an opinion.
The whole "they were dishonest" reasoning is stupid, as is the comparing transgendered person to an infectious disease.
And expecting a person to ask every potential romantic partner if they're transgendered is completely unreasonable.

Yes, it was! Assuming that I think trans people are the pits because I used an example of HIV/STD is completely warping the analogy. You're also assuming I'm transphobic when I haven't made any derogatory comment about transgender people.

This is completely different to finding out your girlfriend/boyfriend is a ****ing tranny.
You can't be serious right now.

And it's not necessarily because they're transphobic that they left.

nnnn I could see people dumping their couples on here cause they don't share the same fave tbh. But honestly, I think their analogy was just comparing an extremity to a not so extreme situation. Was it the best analogy? Maybe not, but it's not entirely wrong either. Some secrets are enough to break a relationship, and some are easier to step over than others.
