I absolutely love their DJ sets and mixes but it's frustrating as a fan of their actual music that most of their fans are fans of their DJing alone.
I think that's what hurts their popularity among general music fans and critics... they're too dance/pop for indie, they're too dance/indie for pop, and they're too indie/pop for dance.
Dance music these days is all about big room electro house (which they do play a lot) and fans of that music expect nothing less or more than that kind of music which ultimately hurts them because their albums/singles are nothing like what they play in their mixes.
Pop music these days is obviously all about the quick hit, cheap formula, electro pop crap and they definitely don't fit that standard either.
Indie music has recently become more dynamic and versatile as far which artists/music is considered a part of that scene... but their style of dance music has yet to be ~accepted into that realm of the music world.
Also, I really want a live performance of Holler. They need to be more ~present in the music world.
