She needs generic music to sell though apparently. When she actually makes a risky album then we can compare to Gaga. Cuz if Prism was risky I doubt it'd be selling as much as it is right now.

Obviously Gaga. The one who sings better- both live and in the studio. The one who takes even small risks, rather than putting out the same kinds of things over and over. Most of OOTB is unlistenable (although her best song is on it!), TD is pretty good, and PRISM is disappointing beyond belief.

I love Katy though, she has some really good songs, I've liked almost every single she has released thus far. The thing that keeps me from stanning is that outside of her singles, she doesn't have much to offer. I honestly don't know how some people can stand listening to songs like This Is How We Do or Double Rainbow.
Like most people have already said, Gaga has the higher highs, but also has more unlistenable sings. I'll still say she has the better discog, though Dark Horse, most of the singles from TD, and Thinking of You are perfection.

It works for her though, which is probably why Katy will never release anything new or exciting. Her music appeals to the lowest common denominator. It's smart, but the music is always just meh.
