Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys
"Empire State Of Mind'"
It's actually very weird why I ended up loving this song. I never liked any other single by Jay-Z before and I don't use to listen to a lot of music of that genre. However, the lyrics, Alicia's collaboration and the concept of this song made me fall in love with it completely. At the end of last year I swear I had it on repeat.
Kris Allen
"Alright With Me'"
Another artist I never expect to like just comes here for the first time. Somehow I find Kris' style very refreshing, besides he's very talented and down to earth. One of the very few solo male artists from this year that I listened to. This song is sure not his best but they ended up releasing it as a single and well, I had to make do with it. It's nice he dedicated it to his fans.
3Oh!3 feat. Neon Hitch
"Follow Me Down'"
2010 was definitely the year of Alice In Wonderland. First here comes this funny song that became one of my favorites, I still can't get over the fact it didn't have it's own music video cause it totaly deserved it. The chorus is magical and the verses just blow me away like most of the tracks from this album.
Avenged Sevenfold
"Nightmare'"
Easily this was my favorite metal single of the year. Not that I listened to a lot of this genre but hands down for these guys. I like the fact that they always stay loyal to their roots and at the same time they evolve track after track. The music video might be a little freaky and scary since I have some kind of phobia about hospitals, however it fits the song perfectly.
Daughtry
"September'"
Let's get a little emotional with Daughtry's latest single. It can be argued this song shouldn't have been picked as their next single, but it still has their touch on it. September was written about the vocalist's childhood time and has a lot to say to those who like to get nostagic.
Alicia Keys
"Unthinkable (I'm Ready)'"
Ok maybe I underrated this song, but despite being totally my style I never felt it, I never agreed with it being released as a single and it's still a little dull to listen to it everytime it pops up on my ipod. Alicia had a lot of hidden jewels on TEO and they all were wasted cause of the lack of appreciation, so sad.
AFI
"Beautiful Thieves'"
Oh I remember when this band used to be my jam back in 2004-2006. At the end of last year they decided to come back but their first single was a joke and they fell so short. This single was a little better effort but somehow they still sounded like a totally different band to me.
Alexandra Burke
"Broken Heels'"
After completely ignoring her lead single I finally fell for her second effort. Broken Heels was catchy enough to break into my countdown however I'm still a little pissed at Alexandra cause she decided to focus on dance songs despite the fact that she has one of the most amazing voices of the new generation. Please Alexandra I need a power ballad!
Jason Reeves
"Helium Hearts'"
This song is probably uknown by most of you, but I find it very cute. Jason Reeves has collaborated with a lot of different artists behind the stage but this year he finally decided to release something on hiw own. The whole romantic tematic of heart shaped balloons is so heart touching. I recommend it a lot to those who don't know it.
Kerli
"Tea Party"
Second Alice In Wonderland inspired song to appear in this countdown, I honestly didn't know who this girl was before I listened to this song, the tune is really cute despite the horribly repetitive lyrics and the extra sugar she puts on her voice. Beware if you're diabetic.
