And now let's be honest. There's nothing impressive about BEYONCE. Even the release strategy wasn't something new. The total sales nothing special! Almost a year later and it barely passed 3,5 mill copies. Nothing to brag about when she sells same or less with the so called singles artists.
On the other hand TS is gonna have her 3rd consecutive 1 mill album which follows a smash hit and don't forget that she went all pop this time around! She will probably pass B's sales after 3-4 months.

The hive has to realize that the no promo excuse is really embarrassing when you have the celebrities twitting about your album and all the media doing the promo for you!!!

Beyoncé. What a lot of people like to call a "gimmick" was actually a risk. Even I thought it wasn't going to do well. And I think people are forgetting the "600k in one day" includes all the pre-orders (if that's even true). This makes no sense. It actually makes Taylor look worse. She has more pre-orders based on the extremely commercial hit "Shake It Off" and some promo singles, while people bought 'BEYONCÉ' without having any idea of the sound or if they were going to like it.

David Bowie released a surprise album January 2013, same year as Bey did funny enough. He actually did it first but I guess it was a coincidence Bey did the same thing that same year
