Time to put a close on this list and get back to my life now.
Oddly enough, the top 5 rock songs (especially 4 of them) are fairly recent songs.
#5-1:
5. The Airborne Toxic Event- "Sometime Around Midnight"
Yeah the story of this song had happened multiple times to me. Only really I'm lying and it never did (really hope it never does either).
4. Disturbed- "Indestructible" (RETIRED)
One of Disturbed's best songs ever.
3. Metallica- "The Day That Never Comes"
The last 3+ minutes of the song is the only reason this track sits at #3. It would probably have landed around #20, but the last 3 minutes are just so awesome that it couldn't be denied a top 3 appearance.
2. Paramore- "Decode" (RETIRED)
For the second year in a row, Paramore is snubbed from the #1 spot. This song retired spending a fantastic 5 weeks at #1.
1. Kings of Leon- "Crawl"
Likely to end up with more than 5 weeks at #1 by the end of their run, Kings of Leon steal the #1 from Paramore. This song is still currently on the countdown in its 6th week, but this song has been in my head ever since first hearing it and has never gone out of my head. KOL take album of the year and song of the year. "You better learn to crawl..."
Top 5 non-rock songs of the year:
5. Sara Bareilles- "Love Song"
4. Britney Spears- "Circus"
3. Jay-Z- "Jocking Jay-Z"
2. Katy Perry- "I Kissed A Girl" (yes I realized that it is on both my rock and not rock charts)
1. T.I. ft./ Jay-Z, Lil' Wayne, and Kayne West- "Swagger Like Us" (no one saw that coming)
Thank you for viewing my countdown this year.
I will likely have one more update with a couple of random lists I didn't get to.
